Yes, I know Kauto star looks aracing certainty, but how good is Monets garden? The trainer thinks the world of him and is in no way talking of turning up for place money. With the serious money going on Kauto, there`s a chance you may get an each way price about Monets, and if you do surely barring a fall it`s a bet to nothing?

Racing Demon is another that could fall into this category.

For a bigger price, I fancy Monkerhostin each way at about 16/18-1.

I think if you`re looking for an outsider, Thisthatantother at 33/1 finished miles in front of Monkerhostin last time out, thing is, you never get anything other than class horses winning the King George.

I am a huge fan of kauto Star and believe he has got a lot of ability and you will be hard pushed to convince me why he shouldn't win the King George.

However, I am now hoping that he isn't invincible, as I have got everything crossed for State of lay in the Gold cup following part one of my 10/1 and 40/1 Hennesy Gold Cup and Chelt Gold Cup double coming in.

In the King George, Yes Sir at 25/1 is my selection E/W. A very smart Novice horse, who whilst he may come up a bit short to win the race he will have every chance of making the first 4 and he may even suprise us all by galloping home.

You seem quite knowledgable NS, I`m impressed. The trainer of Yes sir said the price was ridiculous (33/1 at the time) and he sees him as the main threat to Kauto, however, I`m betting on the fairy tale of another majestic grey winning in the year we lost what was in my opinion the greatest steeplechase ever, Desert Orchid, who made this race his own.
Monets garden is a serious horse aside from the sentiment.

Just seen the re-run of the King George. Not suprised to Kauto Win in the manner in which it did. Wasn't the strongest field but you can only beat the opposition you are up against. Blundered a couple of fences and he will be punished for such at Cheltenham.

TOday, I have gone for Mon mome in the Welsh National at Chepstow. Venetia Williams's is as honest as they come and you cna expect it to be trying. 18/1 e/w about an exposed type like this is a good shout

I know I shouldn`t post after the event, but I`m sick of jinxing myself. I was at Haydock when Halcon Genelardais won a good handicap hurdle in style, it was only running over hurdles to keep it`s handicap for yesterdays race intact. I had £20 each way at what I thought was a generous 6/1, and it ended up 7/1. Can`t grumble though! Still kicking myself for letting the Racing Post pundits put me off Ungaro at 14/1 boxing day. Monets garden is a better horse than that showing, but every time Kauto runs it impresses more, yes it blundered, but was clever enough to get out of trouble.
