Did the BST committee seriously write and publish that letter?

That is one of the most deluded, ludicrously high-demanding job specifications for a prospective new owner that could possibly have been contrived. And highly arrogant for a club in League 2, with historic attendances at that level around the 4000 mark.

That list of demands (not a manifesto) is basically telling new owners that Blackpool fans will only be content when a series of extremely costly infrastructural, administrative and footballing upgrades have been made.

All of which are aimed at making the process of supporting BFC again cheap and idealistic, with absolutely no mention of how the Blackpool fan base will contribute towards these sweeping upgrades.

They also demand 'a proven manager, exciting football and good players' to be served up for them on a plate, which is both delusory (how can an owner guarantee that?) and highly arrogant of a League 2 club.

That letter can be summed up as: 'Hey new owner, pay for an entirely new squad, stadium revamp, relayed pitch, subsidise cheap tickets, food, beer, half time entertainment and just make sure that we always win at home, score at least twice and play 'entertaining' football, and we'll be happy.

What arrogant demands for a small club in League 2.

    They're fucked.

Someone a few posts back mentioned financial fair play, I had forgotten all about that. No businessman with any money at all will buy into a club with such poor income as it stands. They're effectively asking a billionaire to buy a corner shop and put millions into it to try and turn it into Harrods.

I'm glad they haven't cottoned on to the fact that the best way to attract a buyer would be to pack Gloomfield to the rafters every home game and show potential buyers that they'd be inheriting a club with good income from a decent fan/customer base.

I maintain that the real reason they don't go is they are a bunch of delusional smacked arses who thought they'd be watching Premier League football forever more when they ragged it up.

I think Hemmings should just buy the Oystons out, wind the club up, demolish Gloomfield and build a casino or something on the land.

In normal circumstances, I should take offence to that but I would be quite happy with that outcome. At least then we can start a Phoenix club and get on with things.

Does the folding of the club preclude the setting up of a phoenix club? Different circumstances but I'm thinking of FC United and AFC Wimbledon were set up whilst the originator was, and still is in existence.

How much have BST raised for the phoenix club?

Not a pop at you lbd but the context of BST's column suggests they are waiting for a sugar daddy so they wouldn't want to promote an alternative option.

I'd be very surprised if a phoenix Blackpool could get off the ground. You'd be starting with competition from AFC Blackpool / Squires Gate but local options of Fleetwood and AFC Fylde would be preferable to floaters than another NW Counties option. Especially if the real Blackpool was still in existence.

I can't help thinking for you if the club you used to support went it would be hard getting another off the ground.

Why haven't you lot started this Phoenix club yet?

Is it for the same reason only a few hundred bother to show up to your protests? (i.e., cba)

Or is it because the BST hasn't written a Phoenix Club Manifesto yet?

Serious question: would the Phoenix Club Manifesto be any different to the BST Manifesto? If so, in what way?

How do you know BST aren't talking to potential buyers? There is more going on that is in the public domain.

People have said all along that the Belokon court case will be crucial and nothing will be done before then.

I am not getting busy in manifesto's, etc. Some of those requirements are basic for any professional club especially with one that has recently earned a lot of money from the Premier League. The lack of investment since the windfall has been absolutely appalling and this is reflected in the training ground, the pitch, the state of stadium, the trialists, etc. Karl Oyston should resign on this basis but when you throw in his actions against the fans and the spite he has shown in removing the Mortensen statue, he should be ran out town.

    How intriguing.

However, until it's in the public domain, I think we can all safely assume BST aren't getting anywhere talking to any "potential buyers".

They'd certainly be well advised not to show them their Manifesto.

Some of them are basic, but a lot of them are not basic at all, as well you know.

A lot of them are utterly ridiculous demands that not even we can make with any justification, and we're a Championship club, not down in L2 surviving off 2k gates.

I have been ignored again. I shall ask my question again.

What have BST actually achieved in 2 years that will bring about a regime change at BR?

Like I said, why would this be in the public domain IF they were working on this behind the scenes?
