This has been coming, we could have won the third and fourth games and we definitely didnít have the rub of the green in the first two games.

Now itís onto the one day cup, presumably one or two other players will come into contention. Lilley got 93 off 30 balls for his club side today and will presumably play, Parry, maybe Brown and Lamb. Weíre certainly not short of options.

As an aside, if Buttler doesnít open in the Blast this year Iíll be sending a strongly worded email! Five successive half centuries, keeping superbly and carrying his side almost single handedly. Heís the best T20 batsman in the world for me and weíre lucky to have him in our team.

Totally agree about Buttler. He is on fire big style !!

Lancs v Notts this Thursday at OT should be a good day out.. The weather forecast looks good

They are playing Warwicks at Blackpool on the 25th.......

Does anyone know what's up with Plungy? He hasn't been on for a few weeks. Hope all is well.

I think it's fair to say that Buttler's contributions have been sporadic in Lancashire colours, although that's not entirely unexpected in the circumstances.

Sounds like he's in truly great nick so let's hope that continues.

I read that the boss at Somerset mentioned that Buttler lives in London and he was hopeful of him re-joining Somerset at some stage (although I think it was the guy that resigned fairly recently).

I think we have him under contract until 2019.

    Er didn't see that coming....

Alastair Cook, Mark Stoneman, Dawid Malan, Joe Root (capt), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Dominic Bess.

It's a great move by Ed Smith to announce himself by dropping a batter who got a double ton the day before.

Thought Bess would get picked after Leach broke his thumb. If it's a bit damp, they'd probably pick him as a specialist batter at number 9.......

Bit of pressure on our openers and it won't be easy against Pakistan's new ball attack.

To be fair, his batting figures have been pretty good over the last few months - probably better than his bowling. Heís in the same boat as Parkinson, only plays on favourable pitches, so Iíll be intrigued to find out how he does on an unhelpful strip.

Stoneman must have been close to being left out, maybe only saved as the least worst of those available.
