    I remember being taken there to buy toys. Minibrix was one thing but they may have had some sports goods.

    One of my achievements as a kid was to win trophies at subbuteo. I joined a league of mainly boys from Ribbleton and Holme slack areas. In the first season I won the cup and came runner up in the league. In the 2nd season I won the league and came runner up in the cup!! Loved it. Used to paint my own teams.

    Ah yes, painting your own kits - I remember doing that as well....
