    Tesco in Penwortham

Got told today that it is a done deal for Tesco to turn the old government buildings at the top of Cop Lane into a superstore, anyone else got any info on this?
It's you and me against the world...
    When do we attack?

Tesco own the land, unsure what's happening with it at minute because of local objections.

News to me, would cost a fair bit to redevelop that land and sort out the traffic arrangements in the area because it's a nightmare at the best of times anyway.

I used to work in them buildings before a transfer to the city centre.

Like Jimmy said it would cost an arm & a leg.

Not an ideal place for a superstore.

My mum worked there but is now based at Norcross. Are you based in the Carer's Allowance buildings?

It would be a bad place for a Tesco I just think the road networks aren't suitable enough and of course the cost would be very high.

is there really any need for a tesco in penwortham? theres already a Booths and Sainsbury's, Morrison's on the docks is a few minutes drive away as is the Morrison's and Tesco in Leyland
the Liverpool Road/Cop Lane junction would have to be re designed for a supermarket to go there as its bad enough already

Very familiar with Norcross mate, had a few job shadows their. Big place like.

I started working for the Working Families Tax Credits (Now NTC) at cop lane in '97'. I got a transfer to the Guild Centre across from the bus station. Now I'm at St Mary's house across from home base on London road.

I'm assuming your mother works for ICA?
