The absence of a keeper could be a bit of a drawback:-)

I'll just have to break Maxwell's legs myself then

About 6 weeks so you're looking at maybe 1st or 2nd week in January at the earliest.

Perhaps on the bench for the FA Cup tie. Johnson should be back by then as well.

I very rarely have that mindset... but I agree. I'd rather Pearson, Davies and others get a bit of proper recovery time rather than go into Christmas knackered.

It doesn't mean that we give up on getting something from Forest... but I'd be so happy with a point, it would feel like a bonus. Maybe set up the team 4-5-1 or 5-4-1, try to be very hard to break down and hope that Pantilimon does a Rudd.

Can we play Maxwell up front? I'm thinking outside the cube.

Maxwell has to come back after Rudd s mistake.

                      Clarke if fit / Fisher
                      Hunts
                      Davies
                      Earl if fit/ Hughes

                      Barkhuisen
                      Gallagher
                      Pearson
                      Barker

                      Browne

                      Moult.

Neil spoke optimistically about Johnson in the LP, saying his injury had started to heal before it was discovered and that the good thing is, it's his right leg, which he hardly uses anyway! Worryingly, I don't think he was joking.

The personnel are about right though not with a flat midfield four but in our 4.2.3.1 formation. As I've said previously I would be tempted to give Burke a start on the left of the 3 - he looked comfortable there in pre-season - with Barker held back till later since even when he starts he only tends really to impose himself over the last third of a game though I suppose he needs game time to become more consistent. There has to be at least a case for starting Storey instead of Huntington.

Which would mean starts for Hughes, Fisher and Ledson. But it is worth remembering that we actually looked OK - disciplined and organised - in the first half last week-end but then just fell to pieces after that absurd opening goal for them. If we go out tomorrow with a much more determined attitude whoever the actual players are then things may work out differently - that will be the key thing.

Having just taken a morning stroll towards Lea Golf Club and taken in some of the sights.....my team for tomorrow would be:

                                Rudd

                                Clarke
                                Hughes
                                Davies
                                Huntingdon

                                Pearson
                                Gallagher

                                Barkhuizen
                                Browne
                                Barker

                                Moult
