I'd be interested to see whether Charlie Lyon gets to start in league games.... i.e. allowed to.

He has been given an extended scholarship, following a long injury, despite being technically too old ( I believe be cant be certain).
Tom Stead on the other hand has been given a 1 years contract to get fit....but like Connor S is too old to play competative games.

Could be a good season for Walker if he can prove good enough to be consistent.....theres a first team squad wide berth possible...

I wonder whether the new Irish keeper will have jumped over the 2 older keepers in the squad....

This link should answer a couple of your questions sports rehab.

Corcoran in goal and Lyons starts. Looks a strong side but Wigan beat us easily on 2 occasions last season.

Hoping Walker can make the breakthrough into the first team squad at least for Carabao cup games,he certainly has the ability and only just turned 16

15í GOAL PNE! Lover reverse ball from Ethan Walker to Jerome Jolly on the left, his cross finds Darren Brannigan who finishes coolly with a first time effort! #PNEU18 1-1

Great skill from Jack Armer down the left as he skips past his man to the byline and finds Tyrhys Dolan in the middle to bundle home! #PNEU18 2-1

Thatís enough for now, Iíll update at the end of the game.

The U16's have had some incredible results. Beat Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sheff Weds and some other sides in the last few weeks. Must rate them highly as we don't usually face that calibre of academy normally.

pre season you often play teams you dont meet in normal league games....

Not sure about newcastle or middlesboro but Sheff weds are def a cat 2 acad (we are cat 3)...but its not easy to guess which clubs are what cat based on first team.

for instance Bolton;s u18 / U16 games start with Charlton; then Colchester, followed by QPR; Crystal Palace; Leeds and both Sheffields - and then play Crewe !

So they have Prem teams like Palace; Cardiff and watford in their league, as well as div 2 teams like Crewe and Colchester...

PNE's games tend to be more regional with Shrewsbury probs the furthest away.

                            PNE 4-2 Wrexham

Good win for the youth team, especially as they were down to 10 men before half time.

@Ethanwalker_7ís and @JackBaxter30 second half free-kicks add to @Adam_o_reillyís and @charlie_lyons11ís first half strikes to seal the win for the ten-man Lilywhites!

                            Well played lads!
