Good Luck to Daryl up in Scotland. I can see him playing at this level again in a couple of years or so.
Aye. Said the same when he left. He will be back down here within 18 months

I couldn't give a flying f*** what he does from now on. He isn't a Preston player anymore so not interested at all frankly. Not sure why he's still being discussed on the PNE part of the forum tbh.
I don't want to appear to be antagonistic mate I honestly don't but you must be slightly interested if you've continued to click on the thread?

Personally I love to see him doing the business it's good for inter club relationships, and for the lad himself who seemed a decent fellow.

Maybe I'm a sad bastard but I read most of the new posts on here once I login to see what people are discussing. What do you do, ignore anything that doesn't have a title that grabs your attention?

He did seem nice enough, he was just poor technically for this level (ie Couldn't cross a ball). He was all about his pace and directness which doesn't really trick defenders at this level. If he is back in the Championship within 18 months like some are claiming, I'd be very shocked tbh.

        • Perhaps the best indicator to the general quality of Scottish football is to look at the club attendances and spending power. The Scottish Premier League ranges on that basis from maybe one club (Celtic) that could currently compete in the English Premier League, Rangers and Aberdeen who are more of Championship standard and the other teams are equivalent to League One or League Two although the likes of Hearts and Hibs could rise higher. The generally lower quality helps to explain why players who've struggled to make an impact at Championship level can go on to success in the Scottish Premier.

As regards following the fortunes of ex-PNE player (and managers) if it doesn't sound too sentimental I regard them as being part of a wider PNE family and with very few exceptions I want them to do well after they leave us. This is certainly true for those players who struggled here. Some players maybe are out of their depth here, or perhaps they're just here at the wrong time, but if they've shown the right attitude we should wish them well. Making a past link back to Scotland I remember Wayne Foster back in North End's re-election season who was one of the worst players I saw at Deepdale but I was pleased to see him go to Scotland and have success with Hearts. Maybe that shows the lower quality of Scottish football, or perhaps he was dragged down by playing at PNE at such a dismal time, but whatever the reason it was good that he found success elsewhere.

Indeed. It's handy that there aren't any supporters blocking our view of it.
