A new era.....

Depends on how much we have to pay him. For me it comes down to value for money.

If we could have another creative midfielder and a fast right winger for the price of one man, than that's what I'd do.

And what? Create chances for Beardsley and Cummins to balloon I've the bar? They are better than Hume when all said and done

'To me it doesn't look like Hume is any better than Beardsley or Cummins' is probably the most stupid comment I've seen on this forum since I said that Westley would be the man to take us to the Championship.....

Why did you take off the end of the sentence? Quoting selected parts of one sentence is bad form and takes it out of context completely.

That'll be Jack King the freebie from non league on 3 in 16 or 18.75% and Stuart Beavon on 6 in 23 or 26.08%.

Both higher ratio than Hume and in a team a lot lower in the league.

For the same reason he almost single handedly kept us in the championship and as surf said his goals secured out safety last season. I seriously thought you were deluded that you thought our fans won us the game on Saturday but now tonight you worry me

Ironically though, if Hume's goals hadn't kept us up - Westley would probably still be here.

Let it go dude.

You're knocking on an open door when it comes to about all but 3 of the entire forum.....

I just can't believe the negativity towards Grayson and that Dreyer should be the man in charge after 2 days of managing us, the belief that it was the fans who won us the game on Saturday and the to be told Beardsley and Cummins are better than Hume........ I ain't no football specialist but god some PNE fans are slightly stupid

To me it doesn't look like Hume is any better than Beardsley or Cummins if we have to pay him £6k a week for a couple more %.

Seeing as you keep misquoting me I'll post what I actually put, the end of the sentence is pretty relevant to the beginning don't you think?

I bet you took your books to school in a brown satchel right up till you left didn't you. I bet the other kids used to nick it off you and chuck it to each other while you ran after it like a headless chicken shouting "Sir! Sir! They're being horrid to me again!!"

Agreed but from what I've read and the fact he starts most weeks for a team looking to go up automatic I'm guessing he is more than just a goal scorer. The cummins and Beardsleys aren't even that

Possibly not, but I doubt they'll be our main strike force anyway.

Beavon & King are capable, we're also scoring goals from midfield with Wroe & Welsh.

For the wages of Hume we can strengthen up in areas we need to like right wing and another attack minded midfielder. Doesn't that make more sense?

I suspect that at the end of the season if Doncaster go up they will buy him, problem solved.
If they don't then he will return and if no one comes in to take him off our hands then Trev will pay up his last year to complete the clearing of the decks.
However if Hume is prepared to seriously see a wage cut to fit within our structure then he might stay on on a longer contrtact however his actions last summer suggest this is not likely at all.

We are paying £3k anyway so the other £3k could be spent on Hume instead of Beardsley, Cummins and people like Elding and paying off the likes of Amoo. Bringing in a player and paying off their contract within 6 months his shocking....

We do need to strengthen and next season we won't have big contracts to pay off or as many signing on fees to pay.....

As for Hume, I'd much rather see a striker of his ability in our squad than carry 3-4 players who are nowhere neat his ability.....

The stats you present don't show the fact that Hume is a different class to 3-4 strikers we have had on our books this season

We pay £3k anyway to subsidise one of the best strikers in league one to play for a promotion contender.....

We will have more to play with in terms of the 65% ruling with less contracts to pay off and less signing on fees.....

My point is the extra £3k spent on Hume could be instead of the money wasted for the shit like Beardsley, Cummins and what we spent on Sodje and Elding plus the contract we wasted on Amoo
