Its interesting that Italy has now distanced itself from the EU who are backing US intervention.
I think so..... Sick to death of our troops being sent all over the globe to interfere and die for others vested interests rather than the safety of the people there. And this is made worse when the powers that be can conjure up millions and millions to finance these "expeditions" when people in this Country are bloody starving/homeless and being shafted.......Bollocks innit?

MacShane get's it completely wrong - the fact that Greeks lived through a coup and right wing dictatorship is exactly why they think this is wrong. I suspect it is the same for Italians.

I can’t understand how the hell they live with themselves, I can’t get my head round how people will kill and mame hundreds and thousands of people including kids to acquire money they couldn’t possibly spend in their lifetime. It’s funny you mention the lottery Lib because I had this conversation recently with a friend. She does it weekly and I don’t do it all. She said how much money you could win with the Euro lottery and I said it’s exactly why I don’t do it. The first thing you would do would be to look after your family etc but then, how do you reconcile that with people that haven’t even got a room or even a safe place simply to be. You can’t help them all, so I would rather just stay as I am appreciative of everything I have every day. It may not be a fortune or fabulous but, I worked hard for many years and I am so lucky to have everything I need and a lot of what I want too. It’s why I can’t understand why people want way more why just why.
I do understand what you mean but being in a position to help set your family up for life must be a marvelous feeling................. That has no connection however with the subject of souless billionaire scrotes who just want to make another billion and don't give a second thought about who suffers as a consequence. Different thing altogether...........

Sadly, the Socialists and Democrats also supported the motion - back to the Blair days where some people calling themselves leftists love voting for intervention in other countries.
I mean come on, it's worked so well in the past when America and the West have gotten involved in the politics and leadership struggles in South and Central America (and the rest of the world for that matter)

I don't think elections can be considered fair when most of the opposition candidates are either banned, exiled or imprisoned. Nothing new about it of course, it's straight from the playbook of many dictators and wannabe despots.
