But that is unfortunately, life/death.Its the blithe acceptance that we are going to lose 50k lives!!!
There are peoples mums, dads etc.
Im quite a healthy person and make no mistake this has knocked me sideways. I fear for those weaker than me even if fully vaccinated.
But that is unfortunately, life/death.
Its here for eternity, we either live with it and deal with or cower away in fear.
New treatments, vaccines etc will be developed and the risk will decrease over time.

Good job that vaccine has done the trick. Now we just need to make sure everybody has it, including those who almost certainly don't need it.
50,000 deaths per year would be an average of 136 a dayā¦..I havenāt seen that - but to be fair to Johnson, I think I like him spelling out a plan like that - rather than tritely aiming only for zero.
I really donāt know if 50,000 is the optimum number. It sounds high - but itās good to have some sort of baseline for a mature discussion.

I think youve kind of scuppered slipers denial postSo there are basically 500 more COVID-19 related deaths this year than last, despite 70-80% being given jab.
Scientists are clever people we're supposed to be listening to and trusting, didn't they see this coming from a mile off?
Good question if this vaccine is supposed to offer such amazing protection."we've just got to learn to live with this" "we can't have restrictions forever"
fast forward
"Why are more people dying this summer?"
Is that a rolling total? Pretty sure we have not had a day with 700 deaths this year?Good job that vaccine has done the trick. Now we just need to make sure everybody has it, including those who almost certainly don't need it.
Because restrictions have been lifted, the more vulnerable have ventured out for the first time in over a year, people think once they are vaccinated they are invincible. When that was never the case and have ignored the advice."we've just got to learn to live with this" "we can't have restrictions forever"
fast forward

I'm still aliveGood question if this vaccine is supposed to offer such amazing protection.
We haveā¦
Better treatment
Vaccinated population
Fewer vulnerable as many have already succumbed.
Yet more deaths????
Hmmmm
