Matthew Olosunde Signs (Confirmed)

We signed him because for two years he'd pretty much been a constant in the Rotherham side. He was then injured on our pre-season tour of Scotland. Without a crystal ball, no one can see that coming Joan. Frustrating but it happens in football.
tbf, as some of us noted when he signed, he missed quite a few games with injury last season - his first start was in November against us - and he was often a sub.

He started 22 games and didn't finish 15 of them, subbed at half time several times.

Whickham, Brown and Murphy will just make fitness in time to step in for Evans, DJ and Barky for the three play-off games and will fire us to glory.

I’ll put the bottle of Glenfiddich back in the cupboard now, 🥃🥃

I know that. I guess I am talking from the perspective of why we signed him at all if he was not fit to play. To be fair he was signed in August and we and we are now nearly half way through the season ! Are we ever going to have a look at him and, if so, how long for at this rate?

We didn't sign him injured, that happened in a friendly. Just bad luck on that one.

For a full back to only finish 1 in 3 of the games he's started suggests there's something wrong with his fitness, unless Rotherham were regularly changing formation part way through games.

Really hope this guy can get fit, he's the only squad member with a history of playing wingback and could make a big difference in this system we are obviously stuck with.

Barky doesn't cut it as a wingback for me.

It's a shame we're also lumbered with Cunningham because another specialist is required on the other side too.

Agreed. Shame we was part of the Elland Road Brigade. ( Led by David Healy)
I distinctly recall helping to put-off his efforts taking a corner against us, one time, at their place.
Ha that was right in front of me, the look on his face when he asked us to throw the ball to him and he realised we weren't best mates with him any more!

Exactly. Apparently he is now fit to play but has to be selected
Now confirmed to be fit and was available on Tuesday.
Competing with Barkhuizen for RWB and perhaps stands a chance now after Barky’s performance on Tuesday.

Last season there were 5 subs, many teams took advantage of it

Nah, finish it off and buy a new one (y)

When you look at Rotherham last season they often made 3 half time subs, Matthew played 32 times for them last season (20 starts), I’ve only seen him play against us, I seem to think he was involved in one of their goals at our place, and against Everton when he had a really good game and scored, he’s young and quite raw, but from what I’ve seen he could be a good ‘un

Not quite a crystal ball realisation then! Also he is not the only one we acquired this summer either.

Missed 5 games at the start of the season with a groin injury.
