Heart over head on this one and voted in the playoffs.
We've given ourselves a great chance so far and if you say 73 points are enough to sneak into the play offs that means we need 1.40 points per game (64 points over a full season) which is what we've pretty much done every season since...
Didn’t play well tonight but other than the goal I don’t really remember Birmingham having a particularly good chance. Felt a lot more comfortable that we were going to see that out than any of the other home games.
Browne was brilliant second half.
I think the second half pressure was as much down to centre backs losing composure as much as Ledson.
I appreciate we aren’t passing it around at the back but it felt like at the start of the second half the back three were set in trying to clear the ball first time on every occasion and felt...
Radio silence on a LWB. Very reminiscent of last summer transfer window when Lowe started off saying that RWB was a priority and then as the window went on you slowly heard more about how the likes of Browne etc could play there if required.
To get 4 points out of the two fixtures we’ve had, with one striker and a 17 year old playing left back, Lowe deserves credit.
Not been pretty but if we can get a ST and a LWB in (assuming the Ramsay injury isn’t too bad) then we’ll hopefully be in a position to play slightly more expansively...
With all respect, what's Rosenior done to be classed as a quality manager? He talks a good game but currently boasts a win rate of 25% in the Championship and a points per game well below Lowe, who none (or very few of us) of us would describe as a quality manager.
Knowing quite a few Hull...
No update on Brady either?
Currently a Keane or Potts injury away from being really up against it. I suspect we will probably settle for someone who can play LWB or RWB and hopefully Cannon.
Not all on Lowe but when he came in he said he only wanted robust players who could play 40-50 games a...
One of the benefits of playing three at the back is it gives you an opportunity to play players at centre back who are not your traditional, 6"3 centre backs.
Sunderland last year quite often playing with O'Nein at centre back, Luton played with Osho (played as a right back and midfielder in...
Just loan Stewart out to Blackpool. Let him give them a bit of hope for the first half of the season, recall him at the last moment in January, he comes back and fires us to the promised land whilst Blackpool fall away into league one obscurity.
From the quotes it sounded like one to come in on a permanent to develop and "learn from Ben Woodburn" rather than for the immediate future but I may be wrong.
Interesting comment from Lowe after the game on Saturday about hoping to get another one in the mould of Layton Stewart in but more of a “false 9”.
Would be a welcome change to recruitment if they could do that for various positions.
I know there isn’t a surplus of Levi Colwill’s but someone like that would be ideal (when he went on loan to Huddersfield, not now obviously).
I’m already picturing the inevitable Cunningham and Hughes injuries and a back three of Storey, Bauer and Lindsey.
The back three worry me. I’ve at least got some hope we might get some strikers in but the defence we don’t seem to be interested in upgrading.
After the World Cup break we were near bottom of the league for xG given up per game and I can think of 3/4 occasions where we conceded 3/4 in a game...
