    Should be a cracking tournament. England have some good young players coming through, Ireland put it together in the autumn and Scotland can trouble anyone in the day. The French are home to both England and Ireland though which makes them favourites.

    Glad it’s not just us who get selection wrong. NZ drop the spinner who took 14 wickets in their last Test (including a ten fer) and the bloke they retained took bugger all in about 30 overs against Bangladesh. The pressure is on him in the second innings…

    Better known to those of us of a certain age as the charismatic Manolito Montoya from the High Chaparall. He was 87. The actress who played Victoria, his sister, died last year. Big John and Buck Cannon exited stage left yonks ago but Blue and Sam the ranch foreman are still going in their 80s...
