It has been posted many times on here that Tom Barkhuizen's decision making at crucial times leaves a lot to be desired. In fact Alex Neil has intimated as much himself. Whilst it is possible to work on tactics, ball skills, physical fitness etc. off the field, with regards to matters of the mind those are a different kettle of fish. At the age of 25 it could be that we have to accept that Tom might not have the mental aptitude necessary to progress on that front. A lot of decisions on the field are instantaneous depending on the differing circumstances and with top players they seem to be instinctive rather being something they have been taught. Perhaps we should cut him some slack and accept him as the decent player that he is and realise that he might never be able to step up to become the great player we would all wish him to be.
