Brexit - Divine Intervention

Call me absolutely bonkers, but the other day I found myself in a debate that was a little puzzling but also fascinating and I thought I'd share it with you all.

If he were alive and active today, would Jesus have voted Remain or Leave? My mate was arguing from the love thy neighbour point of view but I wasn't as convinced. Bit of light hearted fun but with a serious point both politically and theologically I guess, what do you think he would have voted?

Leave due to the fact that he didn't give a stuff about cash, just how people were treated......unlike every single remainer who just argue about cash.

Remain because he believed man should be free not trapped behind artificial/political/man made borders.

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

John 8:36

Have you a biblical quote for that?

nearest i can find is this

No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 23:1

Er wasn’t he an Israeli?

We had millions of people far more qualified and suitable to vote on such a key issue because they were born in the UK.......

His dad was a working class carpenter- would not want bloody foreign workers coming here and driving down wages.

Jean Claude Judas grassed him up - another bloody foreigner.

Leave.

Wasn't Jesus executed by the unifying Romans because they thought he was trying to set up his own kingdom beyond the control of Roman europe ?

It wasn't an empire though.. it was friendly union of different peoples willingly pooling sovereignty.

It certainly made me laugh... I'd not spotted this thread before.

Obviously Jesus would have voted Leave because he had faith that miracles can happen..

And he'd hardly be worrying about the need to import French wine..

But how does that work when we are trying to get free and the EU is doing all it can to prevent it?

Ha Ha Tell that to the Jewish people after what Vespasian did to their people and Temple

Sold thousands into slavery and flattened their holy of holy’s Temple and all
Very willing they were

All I know is he would have thought about it from a conscience humanitarian stance rather than a bankers (term used loosely it was sooooo tempting to change the first letter) point of view. On that basis he would have voted leave in my opinion.

Jesus was clearly a socialist. The Labour Party's roots lie more in Methodism than Marxism according to Harold Wilson
