I‘m really pleased for them. They might be playing Brig in a couple of seasons! 🙂

Good question. There was a massive split with the supporters with some going onto found AFC Bury whilst others refused to get on board and remained in hope Bury FC would be rescued.
Thinking about it, once Bury is resurrected the AFC support will dwindle away. There'll be some stubborn AFC supporters who'll cling on but how could they compete with the resurrection of Bury at Gigg Lane? The better AFC players will probably move to Bury as well.

It'd be great if a Bury fan (either variety) would come on here and give his/her views.

Would make sense and be better for the town if both clubs merged, IMO.

Just texted my nephew and he's not so sure. There's a lot of ill feeling towards AFC from fans that have clung to Bury FC being resurrected.
Edit. Shabbagaz was posting at the same time!

Similar situation to the football club in my birth city, the sole club in the city went through financial problems so fans went and made a new club in the event the club went bust, while some fans boycotted the club and others stayed to support it. The club didn't go bust but did end up losing most of its fans to the new club. Now the few fans that stayed take issue with the rest for not sticking to the original club. To be fair the original club is an absolute joke these days.

Anyone else think, that if a club goes to the wall, Macclesfield. Town, Accrington Stanley etc, when the club is reformed they should be able to retain the name?

If we went out of business (god forbid), what would we came back as, Preston City, AFC Preston?
