Unfortunately sounds like he’s snapped an ankle ligament in a bounce game....bad for us and him.
Can we apply for an emergency loan if it’s a keeper with a bad injury?

I'm pretty sure we have two spare keepers in Matt Hudson and Michael Crowe? Not sure an emergency loan would be approved.

Gutted for Connor!

Is there an experienced out-of-contract keeper out there we can bring in for the rest of the season? Either way Rudd's continued form and fitness have suddenly become critical.

Last time I read about the emergency loan, it had to be: all other keepers were unavailable. Not 100% certain though.

For the player, this is awful. For NE it's ........ ? words fail ?

I think if your back up goal keepers have played less then 7 professional games, then you can sign sign a emergency GK on loan or you used to able to.

  • Clubs are permitted to sign a goalkeeper on a seven-day ‘emergency loan’ basis if they do not have a senior goalkeeper that has made five first-team apps
  • Clubs will be able to recall a goalkeeper at 24 hours’ notice from a loan at another club if they are unable to field two fit goalkeepers in their 18-man matchday squad.

Yet another injury sustained in training. What is going on?
As for a back up keeper, why not Hudson? He did ok when he came on at Leeds. Time to give another youngster a chance.
The alternative is Crowe. I rest my case.

Let’s give Hudson a blast. Crowe again (at this moment in time) would be suicide.

It was in a bounce game, not training. Ligament injuries can occur at any time too so it's just unlucky.

Hudson looked a mile off in that Leeds game, understandably as he was only 16 I think. He has since been out on loan at Bury this season and barely made an appearance.

Crowe has played one professional game, classic North End fans writing him off already. I agree he had a shocker but fuck me, give the bloke a chance.
