Not many for me as I've never been a regular away fan: Rotherham, Man City ...and Shrewsbury (not to a game but passing through on bike trip and asked if I could go inside to take photos).Probably this has been done before but how many PNE away games have you been to at grounds which no longer exist. Me:-
Bolton, Wigan, Huddersfield, Hull, Doncaster, Sunderland, Bristol Rovers, Arsenal, Rotherham, Chester, Walsall, Coventry, Stoke, Man City, Derby
Possibly more but those spring to mind at the moment.
Wembley
It used to take about 40 mins to walk to the bogs and back.It was great when it had been raining - not !!!
There is a great clip on YouTube of Sunderland fans sliding down the grass bank in in the rain..
I went to the Goldstone Ground in 1977 on a special train… we lost 2-0.Goldstone Ground which I think may have been Brian Mooney’s debut in 1987
Went to Elm Park in November 1977… great day out, won 2-0 goals from Elwiss and Bruce.Elm Park Reading
Mooneys debut was at Deepdale, possibly the same game as Judas making his first appearance.Goldstone Ground which I think may have been Brian Mooney’s debut in 1987
Elwiss and Bruce.
The steel comb incident ?I’m sure Stoke’s old ground has been mentioned - Victoria Park.
Only went once, very scary night…
That’s the one Hickey, I take it you were there….The steel comb incident ?
Thank you. it was around that time. Remember our coach arriving at 3:15!Mooneys debut was at Deepdale, possibly the same game as Judas making his first appearance.
It was a bummer when that happened … I went to Cambridge on Mercer’s once and we got there about 3-15pm after loads of people asked the driver to stop for a wee break.Thank you. it was around that time. Remember our coach arriving at 3:15!
vs Port Vale(3-2)Mooneys debut was at Deepdale, possibly the same game as Judas making his first appearance.
