Derby

Something fishy going on, Wensdeh have done the same, and both are clubs who have been in bother with the EFL for having too much outside investment. They’re playing silly billys.

Indeed. Cheats, but cunning ones. Something will be going on.

Ridiculous Is an understatement.
How does it work with players. Presumably non payment is a breach of contract and they could walk and might choose to do so if it became a regular occurrence?
Think there's a certain number of weeks before players can walk out for nothing but would have to look it up.

Think the problems at Derby are that a takeover was agreed but it is dragging on and on and on and the current, soon to be previous, owner doesn't want to keep pumping money into a club he's about to sell control of.

Would love for them to “do a Wigan” but can’t see it. No doubt the EFL will give them special dispensation as the media darlings and self proclaimed “big club” they are.

Vile club who have constantly pushed the boundaries and tried to cheat the system to gain an advantage. Hopefully now that’s coming home to roost.

Seeing how Wigan began by losing all their young assets perhaps we could see the vultures circling for Sibley and Knight etc. Some good players coming through that academy, hope they get ripped apart. A few going to Leeds as the Wigan youngsters did would hurt, Bielsa certainly getting the very last laugh after Spygate.

Who knows the effects of the pandemic on the financial world that supports borrowing in football, Wigansdeal has fallen through and now the one at Derby is stuttering.

I noticed last night that besides Covid19 in India they are now having a bird flu epidemic, sales of chicken and eggs has been banned, so maybe the Venkys might hit a few cash flow issues, not to mention farmers on strike blockading roads.

Strange times indeed.......

Derby fans are getting quite worried that they will have to sell their up and coming young players. I have no sympathy for the club or its fans given they were very happy when they were splashing the cash and doing things underhand to obtain the extra money to chase the Premier dream.

So would you be interested in us buying any of these at a reduced price? (Below are posts taken from the Derby MB - https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/35890-abu-derby-county/page/348/#comments)

Might have to sell players such as Knight and Sibley in order to pay wages.

It mentions administration or what I said about MSD gaining the club being possible.

Says 14 day notice for players being able to leave due to unpaid wages can soon be invoked.

Mentions EFL and possible punishment in the form of points deductions if that happens.

Also says in the article:

"County are set to speak to the EFL about their issues in an attempt to avoid punishment."

On TalkSport Pearce has just said the takeover is going through with no issues from either parties.

Bit hard to swallow that when they can’t pay the players wages.........sounds very dodgy.......

Macclesfield got points deduction after points deduction all to do with them not paying players wages. That set a precedent. If Derby get away without a deduction, then the EFL are corrupt.
