Chief Executives in the FTSE 100 companies are paying themselves more than ever and their pay has now reached an average of £3m up from £1.7m in 2001.

There is no doubt that Chief Executives should be well rewarded for good results. But things are reaching obscene levels and Chief Executives often get big bonuses for very mediocre performance.
Do we need to reform the system - perhaps giving small shareholders a greater say on corporate pay by allowing them on remuneration committees.
Or is the whole system rotten and what is actually needed is a full scale Sandinista style revolution?
