More than happy for Frankie to go full time at this point, equally as much of a risk as brining in any outside manager but continuity when we're about to have a huge summer is something to be desired.

Regardless

Bit of a dead cat bounce for me. Not suitable for the long term. One moe game and ainsworth would have kept Wycombe up.

I fully understand the view that it could just be a dead-cat bounce - but on what evidence do you form the view that he’s not suitable long term.

I am not saying that he’s definitely the right man for the job. But I can’t think that many people could know enough about him to rule him out.

There is no denying that under Frankie our form in the last 8 games has been verging on promotion form. Whilst wanting a clean sweep initially following Alex Neals departure. I now wouldnt be disappointed if the powers that be give Frankie the job over the summer. IF he wants it

Frank has shown that he’s a great man manager and has motivated the players to put in performances, but what we need is better recruiting of players. We’ve spent too much on inferior players and a lot of them are going to be still under contract next season. Do we stick with the same players with an interim manager or bite the bullet and have a clean sweep. That would cost money and I suspect we’ll go down the cautious option.

I think he has done well. I deserves to be given the chance.
There is no guarantee that any other manager would do any better.
They seem to be battling for him.

The goal celebrations alone says it all to me. Quite a few " nothing " games where in recent seasons we'd have lost at a whimper. This lot look like they've won the FA cup when we score. That's enough for me to give it Frankie ( at least short term) as I think he's deserved it. :D

I suppose it's by no means certain that FM actually wants the job. He might prefer to wait until he gets the call from Alex Neil when he gets another job. He could become the PNE manager with the highest win percentage - 62.5 (not counting the one-game wonders).

He's done very well. Part of me wants a complete re shuffle, the other half recognises the results he achieved since AN has left. I'm edging give him the chance if he wants it full time. Also maybe Gally as assistant if he'd want it.

It would be a fantastic opportunity for both of them to progress their careers. Hopefully they would see it this way. Personally, I'd like to see Gally get some minutes on the pitch in front of a Deepdale crowd before he officially hangs up his boots

Perhaps we can witness a repeat of this. Never fails to make me smile. :)

Surely that could only happen in a friendly? His playing contract ends this summer so, unless his player registration is retained, he’d be ineligible for a competitive match.

Sadly, think you’re right Kathryn.
Would have been fantastic for Gally to finish his long & distinguished playing service to PNE with an “Alexander” moment.
Would still, as you say, love to see Gally again in the shirt getting to see our appreciation & the esteem we hold him in.
Whether that was a friendly, or better still a testimonial, would love his playing time to end to rapturous applause from the faithful rather than the sad departure being his lone walk around the pitch in an empty stadium.

This is what Bayliss said post the last game (V Forest Quote):

“I think that’s what Frankie has really brought in and instilled in us; we had to get that togetherness back and everyone is important. People have stepped up at different times, which has been massive for us.”

So It's onward with Frankie and Gally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you watched the match (unlikely) us not beating Swansea would have been awful - we were the only team looking likely to win.
I did and as I stated the goal was lucky do you agree, the fact we were the better team is not the issue .

Frankie McEvoy is Interim Head Coach with James Beet reporting to Peter Ridsdale on recruitment , that appears to be the set up going forward , with McEvoy or A.N Other in the role of Head Coach

Who's to say his registration won't be retained? Gareth Ainsworth made an appearance for Wycombe in August 2016 - more than 3 years after he 'hung up his boots' as a pro.
