My daughter was born on St. George's day.Strangely Shakespeare also died on St Georges day.
The strange thing is that for some bizarre reason English people get more excited about St Patricks day than St Georges day !!! ( Not Me !! )Got to admit it did make me laugh when this policy was announced and all the Daily Mail brigade went from "it should be a national holiday" to "how dare Corbyn stop us from working, the commie b******" 😁
Anyway Happy St George's day to those who celebrate it.
The problem is, if you display the flag of St George these days then there is every chance that you will be accused of being racist........

Its an English thing, Harry. any excuse for a Piss upYet they all seem to know and care more about St Patrick's night.
Aah so it’s your fault.I have a cup with PNE written on one side and cross of St George on the other - but the cross has been removed by countless years of dishwashing. Drink from it nearly every day - and ALWAYS my first cup of tea on a matchday.
Was Shakespeare real?Strangely Shakespeare also died on St Georges day.
Yeh but he was double 'ard so yeah.Good old St George.
Born in modern day Turkey, died in what is now Israel, not English and never visited England.
Strange choice for a national icon, but happy St Georges Day!!
Paddy's day is a lot more fun.Yet they all seem to know and care more about St Patrick's night.
Yeah, but he was Turkish and never actually visited England. Was Shakespeare real?
How did he seranade Juliet if he only spoke basic English-clever bloke.Yeah, but he was Turkish and never actually visited England.
That’d be a White Ensign. My favourite PNE flag is the cross of St George with the Union Jack in the top left corner. Preston North End across it. Gets me every time, there must be something wrong with me.
Emily Thornberry perhaps?
