January 2024 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

In an ideal world, we would sign a left-footed CB with pace and mobility, who is also able to play an accurate pass further than 10 yards (that's £5m spent then).

If we were playing with a back 3, they would be first choice LCB over Hughes; if it was a back 4, they would play LCB to Storey's RCB, enabling us to defend higher up the pitch. Lindsay is decent at defending our box when we are sitting deep in a 3/5. I'd just like us to have the option to start with a back 4 when it suited us.
 
Whether its a Loan or a Perm, i think we definitely need a new centre back , not convinced about Whatmough from what i have seen so far and i don't really rate Storey.

I think we have only managed 2 clean sheets this season which is very poor for a top 6 team.

Your argument was against Hughes being better right now, as Ando said.

So if you think Best is better right now, that's fine. Or it's Hughes is better and we should play Best anyway because you think it will help him develop more, which again, you're entitled to believe, but I'd expect us to prioritise the here and now whilst the play-offs are in sight.

What is a “Vocal Tree “ Mr M ??
 
I honestly can't see much happening unless someone is sold. People calling for a LCB but we have Best there now who has just made his England U19 debut. If the clubs strategy is to develop and sell, which it should be, then it would make little sense to shunt him back into the central league with no exposure unless he hits a torrid run of form. We also have Hughes who isn't out long term I don't think and Cunningham.

I'd like to see us make moves to make Millar a permanent signing and as for the contracts, to be honest its only really Browne and Whiteman I'd be bothering talking to at the moment. Browne is a must, he's been terrific this season. Whiteman I'd love to see sign a new deal but could see him being tempted if a bid comes in and us tempted to cash in also.

We just need to manage Kian carefully
 
Have there been any actual rumours beyond the center half playing in Sweden

Think he was from somewhere in Africa initially but can't quite remember
