Keir Starmer elected Labour leader

Let’s be honest corbyn should never have been our leader. He only got the 12mps required to back him to stand when margaret - former deputy leader and a n other proposed him when they felt his wing should be represented. worse than when David milliband lost to his brother
He became leader the same way that Mr Starmer became leader. Democratically elected.

I think the biggest problem Corbyn had was the centrists in the party and the fact that he had to make concession after concession in order to try and maintain party harmony.

I believed in a lot of the policies he wanted to bring in and genuinely think if the party had allowed him to follow his heart and campaign on sensible leave he would have done OK.

As it was the Blairites fought him tooth and nail over everything and like it or not we are historically a conservative country and the media played a huge role in the misinformation about him.

I think it says it all that Blairites, as Labour MPs, would rather a Conservative government than a Socialist one, which would run the country into the ground.

I don't believe the whole notion of Blairites being 'Tories in red ties' - like I posted on another thread (I think), to those far left anyone right of Stalin is a Tory.

And since 1951, 45 years have been led by a Conservative government (happy to be corrected). So regarding 'historically', how far shall we go? That's the problem with socialism - it's dated. It's been tried, tested, and now rejected.

Have you paid a household bill yet?

You miss the point classic case of “every view should be represented”. Bigger mistake- him becoming leader- than Michael foot. The Labour movement can do a lot of good not in power-ie trade unions etc. Our party political wing exists to be the government of this country not being just a protest or pressure group.

Have you checked the bottom of your handbag? That's where mine tends to hide underneath all the mounds of crap that I chuck in there.
Labour mps did not want a Tory government. The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party but British socialism/social democracy has nothing to do with some of the extremes you seem to allude to. Corbyn might have been a serial rebel when we were last in power but his views represent a well established and respected part of Labour values. Our manifestos in 17 and 19 in many ways were very moderate.

He has got 4 years. Two of the most respected pms since the war Harold Wilson and ted heath could have been called technocrats better than a serial liar and buffoon

Never a truer word has been spoken.

If any mp Labour knowingly wanted a Tory government he/she should have the same treatment as Ramsey McDonald. It’s just not true
It is true, Stephen Kinnock looked like he was going to cry when we did better than expected in 2017 and Jess Phillips was laughing her t*** off at the exit poll in 2019, there where many of them that wanted us to lose if it meant they could be rid of Corbyn and quite a lot of them have shad cab positions now.
