Late December back in 2019.

Oh what a Month, late December in 2019. We been top and hope was high for the rest of the season. Automatic above the likes of Leeds was in our grasp.
Then all went wrong.
2020 as a year was horrible in all ways, but things went wrong at PNE very dramatically.
Players lost form or were played out of position and did not perform as well as earlier that season.
Points were lost against all manner of teams. We have not been the same since.
The question is why?
Were things said in the dressing room behind closed doors, that are still affecting the squad?
Did training change?
Was there a subtle change in tactics?
Whatever it was I believe SOMETHING must have happened and players, manager and coaching staff are saying nothing.
We got to the top then flopped. We lost the best chance in decades to progress as a result.

There doesn't need to be any conspiracy. We were playing pretty shit even when we went top, we were bottom of the league for chances created, winning an absurd amount of penalties and were just being ridiculously clinical. We simply regressed to the mean. Still massively over-achieving.
There does, Referee's have it in for us, I'm telling ya. đź‘€ You watch on sky tomorrow

Yeh you're right. Even Ben Pearson managed to score against Barnsley.

Somebody mentioned a few months ago that the arrival of Sinclair had something to do with it. The club pushed tha boat out & paid him a lot more than the so called big 4. Did the big 4 switch off then? I don't think that anyone would argue that Pearson was never the same player again.

Still think that Luton away game, the first one back after a couple of months with no football really was the nail in the coffin. 1-0 up, in control and concede a late equaliser. Just think if we would've won that, theres every chance we get in the play-offs. Ahh well

Continuing as we left off with our home form was damaging also. Bad defeats to Cardiff and Derby were a big negative.
