Local Politics

We talk a lot on here about national politics, and rightly so. It's important to have discussions about this to be able to understand opposing and conflicting views and develop our own argument strategy.

However, we don't see much local politics in here. Perhaps it's because some forum members aren't from Preston or don't have as much of a connection to the city or county, and that's fine.

However, the ever-controversial and ineffective Lancashire Tories have come under scrutiny for failing simple transparency - Labour are pushing for broadcasted meetings while the Tories are opposing it. The clear message here is that the perennially useless Geoff Driver and his team are scared of accountability and are trying to hold back - as there is no excuse for not being transparent and holding public meetings. Any information that is required to be censored can be done so by briefly stopping any stream. It's how unions and transparent politicians operate.
