CONFIRMED Maguire has joined Coventry City on a permanent basis.

Churlish to be negative or small minded about this deal- Mr Lowe didn't want him, he wasn't going to get any squad time amidst the Premier League loanees and we've offered him a fair opportunity to rebuild his career.
Good PNE business all round.
It’s only good business if Lowe is allowed to bring someone in….a saving in a salary without using it to improve the squad certainly isn’t good business for the supporters.

Strange signing for Coventry.

They usually sign up and comers like Goyerkes. Guess they're lacking some depth upfront with loaning out Waghorn.

Maguire had so much potential in that first year/18 months but injuries did him in. His agent deserves a rise for getting him a chance with another mid table championship team after his last 3 years at this level.

He was paid off to some degree but a long way from a Baylis or a Harrop. The alternative was having him sit on full pay until 30/06/2023 so pretty much a no-brainer (before anyone points out the obvious we still did the deal despite the absence of any brains required to do the deal).

Surprised he got a deal in the Championship, was convinced League One would have been a good move for him, well done to his agent I guess.

So one out, around £200k off the wage bill for the remainder of the season, surely therefore there must be scope to bring one more in now right Peter? Reckon a RWB might be a good idea given that ‘Pottsy’ is no longer flavour of the month in the Board Room…

Shame what those injuries did to him. Literally has nothing in his locker now.

Tbh when have we ever mentioned a fee.
When we get money, we either say the fee or undisclosed fee. This says neither. Can't fault Maguires efforts over the years, but he should have gone a long time ago. Yet we choose to pay him for another 12 months.
