So here we go at last! 🙂
I’m not expecting a great game, a draw would suit both teams and being it their first game it’ll be safety first.
I went for a 1-1 draw with Sky Super Six.

I think the media have underestimated Croatia again. We know all too well how easily they can turn it on against us.

Here's to a start that shows that we are up for the tournament.

Yes, Croatia’s stars may be ageing but that didn’t affect Belgium or Italy’s backline. Their experience will be important for them. Really tough opening game. Would take a point.

Two full backs who aren’t brilliant going forward, two dodgy centre backs and two defensive midfielders, one of whom is crap

Talk about utilising the golden era to its full potential. Two of the best left backs in world football right now and he’s left the both out for a 30 year old right footed right back to play there

0-0 written all over this.

Rumoured team selection is a concern.

Wants sacking straight after the tournament.

Not playing Grealish is a strange call but I accept Sterling is still up there as a world class player albeit out of form. I also think pace could be key against a slow, ageing Croatia side.

But starting Trippier, a RB at LB when you have two in form LB specialists, one of whom has just won the Champions League.

Criminal, absolutely criminal.

That’s a mind boggling decision though, is it not?

Forget all the arguments about is Mings up to it, who should start up top to support Kane etc.

Why on earth is a RB starting at LB ahead of two quality LBs who have their best season to date?
Yeh, I agree to be fair. Although I rate Trippier, I would start him at right back (he is useful for set-pieces too) and play Shaw or Chilwell at LB.

May well all be total crap anyway that tweet. I notice sky sports were reporting Sterling and Down to start, nothing on Trippier at left back though.

Exactly my thoughts. The Trippier/Walker/James selection is the expected decision Gareth has to make and one if he gets right he’s a genius and if wrong a fool.

But to shoehorn him in at LB ahead of Shaw or Chilwell is just out and out madness. Anything but a win today and he has started to make things very, very uncomfortable for himself.

Plenty of moaning before a ball has even been kicked I see.

Not a expecting a classic today. Can see a fairly tight battle, with both sides more then happy not to lose the opening game.

That said, if ENG are in the mood, I could quite easily see them blowing them away.

Either way just give us some hope.

Playing Trippier at left back is just odd. I hope this works

Chilwell and Shaw on the bench, Trippier at left back

The same Trippier who has played left back 4 times in nearly 400 appearances

So much for picking people based on form

Foden and Mount chance to prove just how good they are

Can’t see Chilwell on that bench.
