Some trivia on the crest (but you may have seen this already!) In heraldric terms, it's a "paschal lamb couchant argent" or (silver lamb sitting down!) ... try saying that with your mouth full. The Lamb's the Lamb of St Wilfred, patron saint of Preston.
The PP you'll see often on the city crest stands for "Princeps Pacis", Prince of Peace. But as is tradition in Preston, it actually represents "Proud Preston".
I'm many miles from Preston today but "Proud Preston" is a saying that will never leave me! Hoping one day it'll be Proud Preston in the Prem.
