New pub for Preston?

Conti isn't worth it at the moment if you only want a drink. Tried to go in before and they were bizarrely full on a Wednesday evening!

IMO I think they've got their booking system badly wrong - you HAVE to book for food but you CAN'T book for drinks (you just have to 'chance it'). Therefore, it just gets full of diners.

Better off at The Orchard or Guild Ale House.
I had a go at The Vinyl Tap - 4 casks on (tiny rebel, Kirkby lonsdale, Severn brewing, pennine brewing). They are also selling (among other things) German wurst. Not many in, but the currywurst tasted just like they did when I was in Berlin in 1990!!!!

Roper Hall is back and in full swing for sporting events inside and out with a max of six per table. Ale wise it has returned to the generic 'supermarket' range typical of Stonehouse Pubs (Punk IPA, Neck Oil, Shipyard Pale, Wainwright etc) as Emma the manager before covid who had a keen interest in getting in different, essentially more local beers, left during lockdown.

As mentioned by @sf in the restaurant thread, former Lofty's/The Loft nightclub on Glover's Court has been converted into Floriana's a bistro with a completely separate bar area for cocktails and 12 taps of beer primarily from Stockport's 'Poynton Brewery' who admittedly I've never heard of. They opened on 21st May and are taking bookings and walkups if possible.

Not sure if I've previously mentioned it but Ashton's 'Tap End' are aiming for a June 10th opening following some set backs.

Nostalgia Cocktail Bar (Bittersuite) next to Ferret has had another name change.

It's called Litbar now, they seemed to be setting up an outdoor area when I went past the other day.

They serve food and looks like they're going to focus on Drum n Bass events.

Based on the pictures on their Facebook page, the food looks like it could be decent.

They have Lit Kitchen further up the road, formerly the Falafel place too.

That's great news, Lit Kitchen food is amazing so glad they've got a perm place to combine with drinks and music.

Never made it to Nostalgia who I think were permanently closed by PCC for completely ignoring lockdown back in March 2020.

Might try Lit Kitchen this weekend, menu looks really good.

Roper Hall had a nice Tiny Rebel on keg Saturday...

What purpose could there possibly be to add CBD oil to beer?

Can only be a gimmick, but as a local-ish business I still hope they thrive.
I think they are meant to be opening a bar in Kendal at some point this year as well

Very impressed with the courtyard at Market Street Social. It's dear but you kind of don't mind because it's nice.

We did a MSS/Plau session for my parent's birthdays. Was a fantastic evening, two fab places to eat, drink and socialise with more to come over the next couple of years.

The Plungington Hotel reopens on Friday under the management of a couple from Stockport who seemed to trade as 'Winwick Taverns' so it'll be one, albeit small, pubco running it for another (Admiral Taverns).

Get the feeling it will become more like the nearby Brook Tavern rather than what the Plungy was like under the previous tenants.
