Not yet, but I know the owner, he's a nice guy. A modern thinking Muslim like myself, in my view.
I think his takeaway has either won or been nominated several times for awards.

I don't think it's possible to do it right here. It would be total carnage. Most places do what's called raciones in Spain but they call it tapas because Brits wouldn't know thier raciones from thier pinxtos.

Been told by the owner they should be open by the end of October. Had trouble getting a new chef after the last went home when lockdown began and failed to return.

Next part of the plan is to get the Michelin Star so the new chef had to be top notch. Can't wait to go back!

That's great news. Might have to get a booking in as soon as I can because I expect there'll be a lot of people wanting to go!

But Preston Fishergate was the first KFC in the UK though..... He should have mentioned that one! Not bloody Blackpool.

Can I tell you about the time I went to the original Sanders Cafe in Corbin, Kentucky? Where he first started selling chicken.

Thanks, pnewortham, very interesting ! It's funny how you get these pictures in your mind (not based on fact) like the one I always had of the Colonel's HQ, shall we say. I pictured it as a kind of "shack" at the road side, halfway up some Kentucky hill, (bit hillbillies) but no, nowhere near right lol!

Yeah - there is a bit of hillbilly, but actually Kentucky is a beautiful state - gently rolling hills, very green. Race horses and stud farms everywhere.

Sanders Cafe is on the 'West Dixie Highway'. And you simply can't get a more American road name than that :D

Thanks ! What is it with the blue grass ? (literally) I mean I take it it's not blue (is it?) but is it a better quality grass than ours or in the rest of the States ?

Kentucky blue grass does indeed have a blueish tinge to it. Blue-green colour. I always think it's very distinctively 'American'. And quite different to our verdant British lawns, but still makes a very fine lawn though.

Good for cooler climates, so very happy in the UK, if you'd like to buy some seed.

Autumn is a perfect time to overseed your lawn 🤓

These must have some cash because they recently opened one in Blackburn I think.
From what I can tell they do fancy desserts, but they aren't extortionate, it's more the decor that's 'luxurious' and unique to each one. Lots and lots opened over a short time.

I see it doing okay in Preston, as it's halal and the brand does fancy Insta type social media posts.

I don't know why, but I imagine dessert places to go under easier than regular food places. Unless they change the menu about, are customers likely to go back more than a handful of times?

Heavenly Desserts probably never saw it coming.

I've just looked at the menu at the Wembley Haute Dolci, 220 items on the menu including hot chocolates. Personally, I would go for a treat, but despite having a sweet tooth I would really struggle to choose from 220 items.

I love sweet stuff, but less is more. I think they're vouching on people coming back to pick what they might've had the last time, over and over.

We've been a couple of times, and it's not cheap for what you get, certainly a treat thing, and it's one of those that if we had a big meal at dinner time and weren't eating again that day then we might go for one later in the afternoon.

However it's normal to see there massive queues outside Heavenly Desserts on a Friday/Saturday night.

Dessert places seem to quite popular with the younger Asian community as a place to socialise in the evening, instead of going to bars/pubs.
