Just reading the Dichio chapter at the mo. His comments on the training methods of the dwarf just made me realise how far back in time we see to have gone.
Cheers Bete, much appreciated. 😊
The thing with all these chapters is that they’re personal perspectives from the people who were there.
Other people may have different versions of ‘the truth’ but @justinr73 I don’t doubt the sincerity of anyone in the books; they’re telling it as they saw it at the time and as they see it now. 🤓
Makes for an interesting read - and throws new light on debates that have lasted for decades in some cases.
We might never know exactly what went on (two sides to every story, etc) but this is probably as close as we’re going to get. 👍🤓
Cheapskate. 😂Received mine today, I need to power read this new edition of NES3 before wrapping it up for one of my lads birthday presents, 19 on Sunday.
I have to wait until Christmas! 😂Don't forget folks, no spoilers please ;-) Some of us have to wait for international delivery.
Can't wait, loved the first two and it will be my next 'beach book'.
Like volumes 1 & 2, a brilliant read, especially the interviews with former managers. I can’t imagine a North End supporter who wouldn’t just love this book. And just in time for Xmas...Morning all,
Just a quick note to say NORTH END SOULS 3 is now available to pre-order.
The full line-up is JERMAINE BECKFORD, TOMMY BOOTH, PHIL BROWN, JONATHAN CLARK, DANNY DICHIO, DARREN FERGUSON, BRYAN GRAY, ALAN IRVINE, RICKY HEPPOLETTE, TEPI MOILANEN, JON PARKIN, MICK RATHBONE, DECLAN RUDD AND GRAHAM WESTLEY. The foreword is by IAN BRYSON.
I’m really chuffed with it to be honest as it has some cracking previously unheard tales about North End and the inside stories of some of the biggest talking points of the past 20 years.
There’s what really happened with the Charlie Adam saga, the Man Utd loanees scandal, the Beckford/Doyle punch-up and THAT bar room brawl with Moyesie.
PLUS there’s:
In short, it’s an absolute cracker, with too many great tales to list here. Buy it (or get one sorted for Crimbo) and you won’t be disappointed.
- How Prince Charles sparked the BAXI revolution
- How a North End captain was once threatened with knee-capping over a signing-on fee
- How Bobby Moore helped us out in our re-election season
- Which ex-North Ender can call in artillery strikes
- What contract negotiations were like with Alan Ball Snr: (‘F*** off!’)
- How one ex-PNE star went from selling stuff on street corners to sorting out Princess Diana’s birthday party
- Darren Ferguson explains where he got it all wrong, Alan Irvine still struggles to understand his sacking and Jurgen Klinsmann talks about what it's like to play up front with Danny Dichio (no, wait . . . that’s the other way round!). 😅
- Declan Rudd talks about dealing with depression, Mick Rathbone recalls the day he demanded a transfer from Sir Alf Ramsey (hilarious) and Jon Parkin explains why you should never go on a stag do with a bunch of Barnsley lads while injured.
- Graham Westley talks AIMITA, medals and where he went wrong: ‘I signed too many good players.’ (True story.)
- And much, much more
I’m doing the pre-orders because me and my Mrs were swamped last time out (!) and this is the best way to make sure everyone gets the books at roughly the same time when it comes out on October 11.
If anyone has any questions, I’ll be at Brum tomorrow handing out flyers in the car park, so come over and say hello - it’s always good to put faces to PNE-Online members (apart from that Bhagwan character - ugly sod!)
Ten per cent of profits go to St Catherine's Hospice and the first 500 orders will not only get it for just £9.99 (RRP £12.99) but also get a free Deepdale/North End Souls bookmark.
Enjoy. 😊
Cheers all,

On the other hand, I don’t necessarily dispute that Westley believes/has convinced himself of his version of events.
Spoiler alert!! Give us a chance, I've only just got it.Just finished reading book 3 what a brilliant read. Quite how you got some of the contributors to say so much I will never know. Not one slags the club off even those who got the boot. Graham Westley's was a particularly good read where he put a few myths to rights, medal winner, midnight texts etc. And Darren Ferguson mentioning the loan players requesting to return to their clubs, not his father demanding it. Great read.
Looks rubbish. Give me a November Sunday walk around Moor Park any day.A little read at Bondi Beach today. Lovely stuff!

Yeah, cheers for that, and the sticker!Great stuff, Muzz. 😊 And I see the bookmark made it, too! 👍 Hope you enjoy it - really chuffed with the reaction so far; all good reviews and selling like butter pies on derby day. 🤓
Cheers Janie, much appreciated. 👍 A real labour of love. It’ll be interesting in a few years (when things aren’t so raw) to find out what’s really been going on over the past 18 months too. 😊Just finished the North End Souls trilogy. Enjoyed 'em immensely. Thanks Keith.
Flippin brilliant. Can’t wait for Postie to deliver. Keep up the great work.Morning all,
