Its moments like this that I really miss.
Stockley got immense credit for his performance that day...Someone who does not get the credit they deserve for their part in the build-up to that goal is Stockley. His chest down of the ball for Browne to pick up on is perfect. You also see that Browne following up just behind the targetman is in a position that ideally suits him. Just to cap it off Barkhuizen is also in the ideal position for his talents - not stuck way out wide but running into the penalty area onto a properly weighted through ball. In short three players in their proper positions enabled to play in the way that makes the most of their capabilities.

Is he?Yes he did but he often doesn't. He obviously isn't in the class of Riis but Stockley is a lot better than he is given credit for and in the single striker role he is more effective than Maguire. He can also form a very effective strike partnership with Sinclair - something that we should have exploited more previously. How Riis and Sinclair might play together I don't know but I have a feeling that Riis and Maguire might work as a pairing.
When he 1st came on in that game just before H/T he made very little difference.Stockley got immense credit for his performance that day...
He just hasn’t performed to that level anything like as often as he should imho. Also the manager got plenty of credit that day for making a decisive, attacking change early on when plan A wasn’t working.Stockley got immense credit for his performance that day...
Probably top end league one.Is he?
Riis has shown exactly what you need from a Championship no.9. Stockley is League One.

It shows how Neil has worked wonders imo, he’s gone the best part of 3 years without a proper mobile, strong, quick striker.Probably top end league one.
He has made a couple of good finishes and certainly changed the game against Rovers in that memorable second half.
Agree not a player who is consistent enough to push us to the next level and Riis looks to be a significant upgrade if he continues in the same vein.
That goal from Barkhuizen was an absolute joy both in quality and significance.
He often doesn't because more often than not he isnt good enough.Yes he did but he often doesn't. Great finish but freeze it when stockley chests it and our u/16s would have scored defensive shambles or what. Hope they defend the same next time we meet them.He did win the penalty at Charlton. Put us top for about 30 hours.
