PNE's Biggest Rivalry

I grew up thinking of rovers as my number 3 team! Bear with me please.
Early on I learned that PNE only became a football team after some rovers players came over and converted some of our rugby/ hockey players and football became our sport. So in a way we owe them for that.
More recently though, particularly since the walker millions won them the league, I have found their fans who I have worked with and reluctantly socialise with to be the most arrogant and deluded set of supporters anywhere.
They are no longer my number 3 team. In fact I rate them below Oldham and that is saying something, though not as low as Leeds or them with the tower.

Their understanding of a player's qualities usually revolves around how much they cost. He cost more than him, ergo he is the better player. KNOBS!

I demand a re-vote, How can Lashers have 75.4% and Plastics 31% and Dingles 15.1%, Fat Pie Munchers 0.8% and that insignificant side 1.6% - Thats 123.9%

(correct % at time of posting)

Are they using a Lasher's Calculator?

Multiple votes are allowed on the poll, percentage shows the percentage of voters who have voted for each team, some voters have voted for more than one team so it adds up to more than 100%. I had the same thought yesterday and it took a good while of staring at it confused to work out what (I presume) is going on.

I suppose it can be an age thing also, in the sixties all the games against Blackpool, Blackburn , Burnley and even Bolton were considered big derbies.

Their players were well known to you , even though they were disliked they were respected and some players were even feared.

Ainscough and Suddick for the lashers, Kindon and James for the dingles, Douglas and Pickering for the plastics and Franny Lee and Wyn Davies are a few that come to mind.
Wow you're as old as me, loved reading about those rival players. Wyn Davies he was a handful, for me Blackpool never had as many stand out stars as other rival clubs.

Historically it will always be Blackpool.
However, not being in the same league consistently has obviously changed this.
Despite all of that, I find Blackburn Rovers to be particularly disgusting in a number of respects, from their owners to their players to their fanbase.
While Blackpool will ultimately be the biggest rival, Blackburn are arguably more insufferable.

I was teaching a maths class when the lottery began. The discussion inevitably went to what we would do in the unlikely event that we won the jackpot. One girl said she would give half to her mum, half to her brother and keep the other half for herself!
One of the many occasions on which I wondered "What the **** am I doing here."

But the vote asks who is our Biggest rivalry, surely it's 1 or the tuther.

No. They’re using a Dingles (6 finger) calculator.
That explains it.

Wasn't set 1 Maths at Ribbleton Hall was it? ?

As we have been playing professional games v Blackburn Bolton and Burnley for 131 years (and unofficial games earlier than that) then I think it is fair and logical to point out those three rival clubs as "a proper rivalry" to PNE.

The fact that some younger fans are not apparently aware of the history of our club and it's rivals doesn't alter the situation.

It will be much the same for fans of Wolves, Villa and WBA, they don't have to have played each other recently for the rivalry to be diminished.
History is history, and geography is geography and can't be ignored, and won't go away due to individual ignorance. (I use that word in the nicest possible way).

Bore off, of course I know our history, doesn't mean I give a shit about Blackburn & Bolton.

School at Clitheroe so all Rovers and Burnley. The oranges don’t really feature on my radar.

Think I have only ever met 4 Blackpool fans and one of those was at Leinster v Ulster in January. He was quite surprised when I spoke up and told him that blue suited him more than orange.

At least some Rovers fans are at last coming to terms with reality. On their MB, they're admitting we're a better team than them and we'll finish closer to the play offs.??
