Back Bench MP Boris Johnson

The simpletons as you put it are not the former Labour voters of the North as you would have us believe but the simpletons who still do not get it that Boris is popular and comes across much better than pretty much anyone the opposition has to offer. He can tell porkies like the rest of them but still his popularity increases . Keep it up Boris , the hateful socialist wished you dead so you are clearly doing something right 😂

It's staggering how popular a pound shop Churchill can be. He was a useless, indolent, lying fuckwit prior to his brush with CV19

He conned the simpletons

This sneering attitude to ordinary decent working people, and , dare I say , to people like John T (who between his many , let’s just say , very outdated and unacceptable comments, often gets it bang on the button about what’s happening in the minds of folks in the real world) is one of several reasons why the Labour Party remains a mile from Power.

Sorry JT I don't agree, he's a buffoon that idolises Trump, look at the farce over Brexit when he was firmly in the remain camp until he realised it'll do his career a world of good by jumping ship to the leave camp.

We will have the highest death rate from corona virus in Europe thanks to his bungling incompetence.

He's all about himself, they should of left him on that zip wire he got stranded on years ago, he'd have made a great fat ball for the birds to peck at.
We may well have the highest death rate in Europe, we may not. However, we won’t know with any worthwhile degree of certainty for quite some time.

We may or may not have the highest but what is clear is that its going to be up there with the worst.

Good eh?

I’m not convinced that Italy, Spain and France have been measuring deaths in the same way as the UK , but at the end of the day that is all semantics....

It's impressive that we can be arguing about who has the most dead people when the figures released by each government are the minimum number of dead people possible.

Maybe a chant of "My Mortuary is bigger than yours" when International matches resume

It's not good and it is still too early too say. Come back in 2 years when we know whether there have been 2nd or 3rd waves of the virus and how virulent they were. Come back in 2 years when we can look at the data and make it more comparable between countries. Come back in 2 years when we can analyse the effect of variables such as population density and age profiles. Come back in 2 years when we can evaluate the economic impact of lockdown and model the effects of alternative means of dealing with outbreaks like this.

Even then, there will be so many variables it would be difficult to 'rank' countries accurately but it would certainly be a lot easier to say which countries had chosen the best path.

That would require patience, calm, foresight, wisdom, nuance and the willingness to employ long term, strategic thinking.
Sadly, in the hysterical, media-fuelled, soundbite filled, instantly disposable, pathetic little era we live in that isn't going to happen.

ah so basically STFU and accept what the government is doing without questioning?

How does that fit in with your Freedom of speech values?

There is some validity in mer5ey’s questions - but it would be ridiculous not to make any judgments in the meantime. It looks like mer5ey is suggesting that the government should be allowed to plough its own furrow for years, virtually unchallenged!

Government should be open to scrutiny and challenge and everybody should be free to participate and contribute.

However, so should comments and claims made by people on this forum. Mine, yours, everybody’s.
