PNE youth team thread: 2019-20 season.

A mixed bag for our loaners yesterday.

Josh Earl started on the bench for Ipswich but came on in the second half due to an injury.

Josh Ginnelly not in the squad for Bristol Rovers. (Maybe injured)

Adam O’Reilly not in the squad for Staleybridge (maybe injured)
Ethan Walker started on the bench for Staleybridge but came on in second half and from various tweets sounded like he did well.

Jack Armer not in the squad for Lancaster (maybe injured)

Jack Baxter not in the squad for Clitheroe (maybe injured)
Lincoln McFayden played a full 90 minutes for Clitheroe and helped them keep a clean sheet.
Ty Dolan played 80 minutes for Clitheroe before being substituted but sounds like he had a decent game.

Michael Crowe played 90 minutes in their 1-2 defeat to leaders South Shields.

Someone said they saw Ginnelly and Potts leaving Deepdale early together yesterday, if they were already on the sick what they saw yesterday wouldn’t have helped.

We do have ONE PNE player, playing today.

Jack Armer starts for Lancaster City.

With Staleybridge Celtic & Clitheroe games being postponed, Jack is our only representative today.

It’s sounds like Jack has had a decent game again today. Another 90 minutes under his belt. Hopefully, he may be able to get loaned out to a league club next season.

Morecambe could be a good move for him - they train at the same facilities

Clitheroe game was on, but Baxter and McFayden both out injured. Dolan scored in a 4-0 victory away to Droylsden.

If Fylde can stay up I think they would be a good fit for Jack next year. Having watched a fair bit of brig last couple of years there is quite a jump from that level to league 2 football.
I assume the club are taking up the option of giving him another year's contract?

Report from Runcorn v Clitheroe played on Tuesday. Dolan sounds to have settled in well.

First goal for new boy Kieran Feeney ends winless run for impressive Blues
Kieran Feeney made it the perfect 10 as his first goal for the Blues ended the long wait for a win and lifted Clitheroe back onto the fringes of the play-off race.
Feeney’s 78th-minute header capped an impressive performance from one of Phil Brown’s new recruits.
His combination with Preston loanee Tyrhys Dolan hinted at good things to come as the teenage tear-aways gave the Blues a cutting edge.
And a goal from the former Wolves and Barnsley youngster in just his second start finally gave Brown’s men a first win in 10 attempts and first since New Year’s Day as they breathed new life into their campaign.
Runcorn had lost just twice in the league since November as they mounted a belated play-off push.
And they threatened to take an early lead in a bright start which saw Ben Wharton go close with an effort well saved by Chris Thompson, who tipped his dipping effort over the bar at full stretch.
The Blues – giving a first start to forward Danny Wilkins following his return to the club – had to ride out a spell of pressure and repel a flurry of corners, Ollie Muir heading one effort off the line and out off the underside of the bar.
But having contained the Linnets’ best efforts, Clitheroe then dominated the remainder of the half as the central midfield pairing of Craig Carney and skipper Charlie Russell drove their side forward.
Dolan and Feeney linked well with the pace of the Blues on the break causing Runcorn all sorts of problems.
Both had sights of goal but Linnets’ keeper Craig Ellison kept the hosts on level terms with a couple of smart stops before the break, the best a one-handed effort to keep out Dolan’s top-corner bound strike.
Clitheroe couldn’t maintain their grip after the re-start but again stood firm at the back to restrict Runcorn to a couple of long-range efforts, Liam Caddick lifting their best shooting chance over the top.
And as the game began to get stretched, the Blues’ ability to break again got them into some promising positions.
Dolan and Cummings both forced corners with their elusive running and from the second, Feeney rose at the near post to glance an excellent header across goal and into the far corner.
Runcorn’s response saw Ryan Gibson head over and then volley just too high with virtually the last kick.
But with the Blues refusing to buckle and securing a second clean sheet in four days, Brown’s men had done enough to secure a deserved – and welcome – win as they moved above Runcorn into sixth place in the table.
Runcorn: Ellison; Aley, Brown (Lycett 25), Wylie, Hinnigan; Lindfield, Hamid (Donaldson 55), Holt (Hayes 8), Caddick; Wharton, Gibson. Substitutes: Corrigan, Kurt, Donaldson.
Clitheroe: Thompson; Gregory, Stanley, Foulds, Muir; Carney, Russell (O’Neil 55); Cummings (Gray 82), Dolan (Scott 90), Wilkins; Feeney. SubstituteWood.

A total mismatch saw a very young Droylsden side, low on confidence and playing their fourth game in eight days, take on a Blues side with an injection of energy from Phil’s new recruits to complement the existing squad. I feel for my mates at Droylsden but Clitheroe could have had double figures and the large crowd drawn from a diaspora of local fans, Bristol City fans and a large Clitheroe contingent would not have argued.

Danny Wilkins and Kieran Feeney featured prominently but it was live wire Ty Dolan who stood out, eclipsing even a rejuvenated Tez Cummings (just for you Mr Korol!). The first goal on 13 minutes saw Ty swing the ball 50 yards to the right where Tez controlled it, saw his first shot saved and then scored the rebound. The second on 40 minutes saw Danny Wilkins collect a poor clearance and with a clear run on goal, he obliged and finished superbly across the keeper.

In the second half, with the breeze, my pen almost ran out. After one minute Kieran was well blocked, before 5 minutes later he missed a one on one, much to his disgust. He was desperate to score. On 57 minutes, Tez hit the post from a laid off free kick, before on 65 minutes Danny W collected a long cross field pass and rattled the crossbar. One minute later a superb three pass move saw Kieran and Danny exchange passes before Ty slid the ball home. Sublime. On 75 minutes Craig Carney hit the side netting, but made amends on 87 minutes when he swivelled in the box to convert a scudding cross from Danny.

Thommo did not have a save of note to make all game and the Blues were irresistible. Time and the Coronavirus will tell if this is the last game for a while. If it is, what a way to sign off,
