Following the discussions on here is to listen to a constant stream of Tory faults and perceived failings, I'm just redressing the balance a little.
Labours policy was nonsensical and gave Boris his huge majority.

I'd love to have a credible political opposition.

What's good for the goose.....maybe teh Government needs to show some credibility too rather than juggling everything like a hot potato they didn't realise was cooking

We have stuff we want to buy from them and sell to them and vice versa..

But we dont. We export a much higher proportion of services than goods. We need a lot more from the EU than they need from us.

I can't speak for them.. I didn't vote for them.. but personally I haven't seen or heard much that really surprises me.. one way or another.
The endless negativity and doom mongering about Brexit by those who can't seem to come to terms with it, has proved totally self defeating from day one.

It seems to me many are continuing with the same failed strategy.

I tend to agree with Paul Krugman when he says "
‘Brexit opponents made (yet another) big mistake by trying to turn it into catastrophic scenario’
He is hardly an advocate of Brexit.. but he thinks the effects on UK GDP will be marginal..

Nice twisting paddy taking out the services you would make a good politician here are the full facts they certainly sell more to us than we sell to them the whole EU has been declining with trade around the world while the uk has been going up.

Your basic premise is flawed since the EU as a bloc is the largest economy in the world. So as a percentage of their business, their trade with us is relatively small compared to ours with theirs. Its as if youre trying to persuade us that the Sun revolves around the Earth. As slipper pointed out, its simple. They dont want to compromise for us on the single market and what goes with it in terms of regulation since those compromises will lead to a disproportionate downside impact on their internal market. We need to get on with our project and look westwards and stop blaming the EU for what might never have been. its a sign of weakness and ladk of ambition.

The Remainers who lost the argument with the general public twice

In the Referendum and the last General Election, are now already winding them up about how the trade Deal will be so bad, and the negotiations haven’t even started yet

I suppose we will be in for all this ‘crap’ all summer and autumn

And the result will be the same again I suspect

But the lefties on here haven’t much too else to look forward to I suppose

we can take that two ways. Johnson said he had an oven ready deal, or didn’t he? And if we need a deal by the end of the year why would you even delay starting what everyone knows will be an awkward negotiation. Not like they didn’t know this point would happen

The only thing our two posts have in common is the word "simple"

Not very difficult this one.. I am in favour of a single or common market and have been since day 1. Who wouldn't be ?
Leavers have always said they want an FTA.. that would give us easy access to the "common market"

The problem is that the EU seemingly only wants to give us access to the Single Market if we fully retain their regulatory dominance.
Which many argued didn't exist.

I can understand that those companies dealing with the EU would need to abide by EU rules and standards and vice versa.
But that doesn't mean we should accept EU rules on anything else.

Simple to understand really.

Well Jake I didn't say it would be easy

But the fact is it's the EU who don't want to start until March, I suspect that is to 'do' with waiting what the Southern Ireland Election produced
But I agree if both sides don't get a move on, we will see what Remainers term a 'Hard Brexit' come the end of the year
If that's what it takes it's fine by me at least
I didn’t mind what was termed ‘The Common market’ but I am dead against The EU political Union idea

We have problems with our Government (both parties) adopting policies we like, even less control in the EU

His one plan is clear enough and always has been, whatever noises he makes.

Do nowt , delay for as long as possible, and hope the EU blink first as we near the wire.

IMO.
