Race riots in Leicester

It does appear that the reporting of the trouble in Leicester (or what I've heard on the BBC) is a tad restrained, though I did eventually hear the words Muslim and Hindu mentioned.

If there were any caucasion groups involved I am sure that there would be headline news along the lines on 'Leicester Race Riots', but not in this case!

I posted about this somewhere else, it has been going on since the end of August, it's between Pakistanis and Indians, Muslins and Hindus predominantly.

Reason being for the troubles, is about an International Cricket match, won by India.

There are now daily clashes, with hundreds involved, only a matter of time before deaths are reported.

Been going on for a while then, yet no one has the balls to call the troubles race related. Suppose if they did they'd be classed as racist!

surely its religiously motivated rather than race?
Correct. There's relatively few Asian's in Leicester - approx 8,000 in 2011 but there were around 90,000 Indians - slightly more Hindu than Muslim. It's not simply a Asian/Indian issue - no one calls rioting in West Belfast a "race riot".

There's numerous stories doing the rounds but one is that there's a group of hard-line Hindu's going past "Muslim" areas chanting "Hindu slogans" - this group - or similar - are active in India and known as "right-wing" and "upper caste" - they're very anti-Muslim. Whether they started out attacking Asian Muslims I don't know but it seems than Indian Muslims are fighting back again the Hindus.

It's been sparked by India's PM. Modi, he is encouraging violence against Muslims.

I worked in Leicester for a while teaching in an inner city secondary school. Hindus outnumber muslims significantly.
There was a poor attitude towards Muslim students and muslims generally from the Hindus.
Many of whom had parents who had been forced out of Uganda by Amin's regime.
Regardless of the differences, the levels of this confrontation has surprised me.
In reposte to some other poster's comments about under reporting because of the issue of 'race', very unlikely.
It's probably on advice of not to inflame tensions further, likely be a danger of attracting kids to join the disturbances particularly from other areas.

That's similar to what I've heard and there's no place for it in the UK.

If this isn't dealt with swiftly then it will spread to other parts of the UK.

I've heard that a group of Hindu men attempted to kidnap a young Muslim woman, but it could well be a load of shullbit spread to create further chaos.

The Muslim Point of View

Hindutva thugs and poor policing created chaos in Leicester on Saturday

Leicester resident Jahangir Akbar describes the Hindutva violence and intimidation that took place in the city on Saturday.

On Saturday a large group of masked Hindu youth, escorted and protected by police, marched recklessly through Green Lane Road in Leicester during busy shopping hours. Some have perversely argued: “Bro, it was a peaceful demo/walk/ march.” No it wasn’t. It was a trigger point. End of.

Their presence whilst masked with balaclavas and chanting was unruly, intimidating and threatening. The mob disturbed the peace, created anxiety and caused significant, unneeded inconvenience in an already emotionally-charged situation.

I think there's multiple incidents going on each day - but targeting a female Muslim fits the narrative of this Hindu group being anti-women.

To me the cricket match being the cause is a convenient excuse to avoid looking at a deeper cause. From the sounds of this Hindu group they were looking for an excuse to start their bullshit and this happened to be it.

They have hated each other for years, personally I don’t get it, live and let live, but the brainwashing creates these situations, these kids aren’t born hating, it’s the parents and circles they move in that plants that hatred.
adults should take a long hard look at themselves and make the moves to break the cycle.

My dad used to have cause to visit a cake factory near the M62 because of his work, late 80s through the 90s.
Regular problems there with everyone falling out. Usually with Bangladeshi Muslims.

White man’s fault. We’re all cunts.
