I can roll up, as I said, at 1458 and the atmosphere is a given v Lashers, Plastics, Dingles. I'll be as raucous as the next person, see 5/8/13. my mate filmed a video of our celebrations as the goal went in, I'll try and find it. Was intense!!!

People stating the "whole match day experience" seem to talking about pre (and possibly post) match "entertainment". WTF???

Worlds gone soft.
Half the problem is that to an extent, the truly working class man has been priced out of the game. It was these sort of chaps you helped make the atmosphere so special.

I'm not talking about the kids doing their half time penalty shoot out or Russell Watson belting out a tune pre-match. I'm talking about the drab match atmosphere.

Perhaps it's folk like you who are the dream for PR where no thought has to go into making Deepdale a great place to be for the duration of your visit.

The world's full of fossils.

My enthusiasm has eroded over the last the last decade but there is still enough spark left to motivate me to purchase a season ticket.
Hope we get something to shout about in the coming season.

That’s a bit like my story Eccy ( my last ST was in 2013 )

It is funny how you quickly get out of the habit of going on isn’t it ??

My love of PNE has never waned and never will but I don’t have the same interest in going on every game !!
How can you love something and have no interest at the same time?

Smacks of another flimsy excuse.

Like saying you love your wife / partner / GF / BF yet having no interest in them.

A weak cop out.

I still think that overwhelmingly the most vital thing is to get the quality of the football to a high level. That above anything else will draw people in.
A couple more seasons of below par performances at Deepdale (the last 2 or 3 have been poor) is what would drive me away.

Spot on JD. I hate attending matches early. Feel I would rather have another couple of pints in the pub watching the early game then attend the match at two and watch the players train. How boring!

I don’t get it. It will be interesting to know from this who want this ‘match-day experience’ what they would like to include to make this better? Maybe we should
Get them clappers that Leicester use.

Sorry, fuck that. I would rather shit in my hands and clap then use them.

Seems to me that a few very minor things would boost the experience.

Outside the ground - a popup bar with seating area (big marquee thing). A couple of extra food vendors to create a little food corner. Penalty kicks for the kids (like the bowling machine at Old Trafford - loads of kids lining up, loads of adults eating & drinking). Really wouldn't take much to encourage people to come down for an extra hour before kick off.

Inside the ground - variety of entertainment each week. Brass band on the pitch, get a prize for chipping a ball into the top of the Tuba. (I've got other ideas but that one is winning at the moment.)

Have they announced the walk up matchday prices as yet?

I work 2 out of 3 Saturdays & what with that + other commitments I end up missing a few games so how many "free" games you get on a ST is important to me.

I like the pop up bar idea.... that would certainly attract people out a bit earlier on match days, especially on a nice day

If it is £25 for a match day ticket in the Town End then you would be getting 7 free matches with a ST

Thanks @Ando60

Didn't they do something along the lines of if you were a member & bought in advance it was £24 but if you paid on the day of the game it was £26 or have I imagined that?

Aye, but can Joe Bloggs from the Callon Estate, surviving on £400 per month Universal Credit, stump up £400 for a ST?

Even £26 for a single match day ticket might take some thinking about.

No but welcome to the real world. We can’t just make season tickets cheap just to suit people who can’t afford it. It’s 40 quid a month if you can’t afford 400 quid out right.

If people are that bothered about this whole match day experience there is usually a fun fair on Moore park opposite the stadium.

So about two go to that have a few cans, go on the match at three and then maybe after the match go and have a penalty shoot out on Sainsbury’s car park and get some cans from Sainsbury’s. It isn’t much but at least it makes the match day experience just that bit better.

That fun fair thing is usually only there around Easter you know, it’s not there all year round haha

Part of the match day experience in the 90's 00's was gathering in The Sumners, Garrison etc or other local pubs. It was an extention of the Town End.

These days everyone is miles away spread out all over. Which is why fanzones etc are becoming more relevant.

As a kid I used to get on the old Town End at 1.30, help the band, ISA, Take my ticker tape of cut up the night before, blow up balloons, clap and sing for every player.

I have no doubt that had the "Match Day Exeperince" even in a shite Deepdale been like it is now I'd have lost interest like my kids did.

I prefer away days now, meeting folk I only ever see at football, socialising, having a sing song etc. It's a day out out not just 90 minutes.

Football is a very expensive hobby these days and we have to accept that for your average non dedicated deluded clowns like us tbey want more than just 90 minutes. I turn up at 2.55 like you but wish there was a reason to get there earlier.

It's a bit unfair blaming the club for various pubs shutting down.

Away days will ALWAYS generate a better "match day experience" as it starts, London trips especially, from the early hours of the morning (6am).

Regards a FanZone - which I presume will be outdoors - in decent weather, like this week, it will do well but come late October - March, I cannot see it doing well at all due to the weather.

People will either remain at home until it's time to leave for the game or remain inside their town pub of choice in the warmth.
