PNE-Online plan to have a new surfer flag made, to be unveiled to mark Sir Tom Finney's 100th birthday on Tuesday 5th April.

Following a vote from PNE supporters across www.pne-online.net and social media we have a overwhelming winning design.

How big do we want to go?

That is up to the Preston North End supporters.

If we raise:
£2000 - 15 metres by 10 metres.
£3000 - 20 metres by 12 metres.
£4000 - 25 metres by 15 metres.
(Approx sizes.)

If the final figure raised falls in between or surpasses those amounts the funds will go towards an additional smaller flag/flags or something PNE related which will again be put to a vote.

Due to the short turn around we only have approximate two week window to raise the funds.

We appreciate these are difficult times for many so appreciate any donation you can afford.

Please share this campaign anyway you can, tweet, email, Facebook, Instagram or even TikTok and let's make Sir Tom and the Gentry Proud.

I actually quite like the fact that some of our younger fans might ask who Tom is. It's an ideal opportunity to explain who he was, tell some stories about him, then go show them 'The Splash' outside the stadium. I bet they won't say 'No' if you offer to take a photo of them next to it after seeing/hearing all about Our Tom!
 
As we're just about to creep over the £1000 mark within only a few hours of donations were going to up the target to £3000 and were now officially aiming for the 20x12m flag.

A huge thank you to all who have donated and shared so far, times are hard and bills are creeping up so every penny received is truly appreciated.

Let's keep it up and do Sir Tom and the Gentry proud!

Just can’t believe the club are having the fans pay for a flag to celebrate one of its best ever players 100th birthday.

Probably find 4 grand down back of one of Trevs old sofas.
 
What we talking about size wise in comparison to the actual stand ?

Will be great to see this looking across from the kop 😃
