Summer 2023 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

All chilling out and having a good time.

I wonder if they would give access to see a glimpse of the boot room discussing the tactics etc if there are any!

Shall we place bets on how many players will have their wrists bandaged up tomorrow?

I've seen some stupid comments on Twitter in reply to the pictures of the boxing training. Personally I don't have a problem with it. If you've ever hit a bag for 3 minutes straight you'll know how difficult it is. It's a brilliant way of improving fitness and some of the comments are just beginning to stink of the club being able to do no right at the moment......................

But, Woodman has posted on his Insta story himself with gloves on. Is letting your keepers box 2 weeks out from the start of the season really wise?

Is this a good use of time? I think there are so many issues to be sorted out on the football pitch, I really can't see the value in this, we need match fitness and team organisation.
Well we can’t match teams on the pitch so maybe we’re just going to beat them up instead? Makes sense

Even signing Cannon won’t do much I’m afraid. We’re going down I think.

I'd put money on us not going down if we got Cannon, despite the other shite.

Ramsay & Whiteman would also make a huge difference to this team, I hope. Holmes must surely improve on a midfield of Ledson, McCann, and Woodburn too. A LWB would be good.

It's the same every year, we're shocking without key players, but scab enough mid-table points when they're available.... If there's someone to knock in some goals ....

Yeah, signing Cannon should keep us up. Otherwise all bets are off.

The back three worry me. I’ve at least got some hope we might get some strikers in but the defence we don’t seem to be interested in upgrading.

After the World Cup break we were near bottom of the league for xG given up per game and I can think of 3/4 occasions where we conceded 3/4 in a game.

I don’t rate Storey, Lowe for some reason doesn’t rate Bambo, Lindsey is incredibly limited and Bauer has gone athletically at this level. If Lowe does have “a brand” then the centre backs we have aren’t capable of playing it. I fear by the time we come to January to sort the back three out it’ll be too late.

I only see a formation, I don’t see a system? I’m just in disbelief that when we go out and play we just don’t seem to have a game plan? Its like they are making it up as they go along. All these coaches in the building so why is this happening?

This is what is concerning me.

In the last two games I have seen, you could see exactly how the opposition where set up to play.

Every single player knew their role and what was expected.

They both looked sharper and Ipswich looked paticualrly ready to go.

We have looked sluggish, unorganised, pedestrian and the senior professionals have not looked anywhere near fit enough.

The young players are doing themselves proud, they look like a team and playing with a freedom that is nice to see.

The manager stated the senior professionals are 'not ready' and called for them to put more graft in, whilst then alarmingly stating they have not worked on tactics yet (@Ron Burgundy 😉).

There is a hell of a lot to do on and off the pitch in the next two weeks.

Peter & Craig need to push Revitt for funds and get a LWB and at least one striker in the building.

How quickly Ramsay, Holmes and Whiteman can get up to match sharpness is important.

We can't be playing matches with a combination of Browne, Ledson and McCann and or Woodburn... there is zero creativity.

I would be delighted if Cannon returns and he would give us that quality up top but the season starts in on the 5th August not the 1st September.

We look way off it at the moment and attacking wise totally innept.... not one senior goal yet.

The back three terrifies me. A centre back is a priority position in my view.

Whilst nowhere near ideal even a loan along the likes of Sepp would go someway to helping. It needs an immediate injection of ability.

James Hill would be a shout.

Certainly very good for fitness. It's also great for mental strength, Boxing is boring and monotonous but it teaches discipline and so many little scrotes and their parents could do with a few sessions

I know there isn’t a surplus of Levi Colwill’s but someone like that would be ideal (when he went on loan to Huddersfield, not now obviously).

I’m already picturing the inevitable Cunningham and Hughes injuries and a back three of Storey, Bauer and Lindsey.

Is he actually any good?

Not sure filling your team with players that got relegated is particularly wise
It's a fair point this when we've already brought in Keane as well as Murphy and Kelly.

But he is a decent player and would add some much needed composure to that backline.

Yeah, only 2 weeks on from their jolly to Spain and the senior players are already "jaded" - imagine how they're going to feel when the Brand™ tramlines are drawn on the training pitch again.
