Team v Birmingham

Birmingham have only really one player which worries me and it’s Siriki Dembele, luckily enough, he’s injured.

The two players we have for that role are Hughes as first choice and Cunningham as back-up. Lindsay and Whatmough are the choices for the central role in the back three with Bauer as the forgotten man - surely a move away for him in January would be best for everybody. Storey is the only real option for the right of the back three - Whatmough probably doesn't quite have the mobility - though if he ever is fit Ramsay might be an option.
Depends if he (Bauer) waves his loyalty bonus
A deal was agreed for a switch to Charlton with wages split between clubs but he wanted his loyalty bonus which we refused to pay as he was getting full wage paid … so he stayed

Hmm I think we will be similar in structure as we were against Plymouth, a lot of the game without the ball and being very clinical and direct when we do have it. Maybe Cunningham or Whatmough instead of Hughes? Aside from that maybe Keane on the bench?

The Top 10 in The Championship all play each other over the next two nights.

Tonight.
PNE (1) v Birmingham (6)
Southampton (9) v Ipswich (3)

Weds.
Blackburn (8) v Sunderland (7)
Hull (5) v Leeds (10)
Norwich (4) v Leicester (2).

How often has this ever happened?

What we do down the left interests me. Ethan Laird is a danger this season and it would be the trickiest of tests again for young Kian Best.

I’d expect to see the same lineup as Saturday if everyone was available but I’m just hoping Millar is fit, he’s key for me. He did his defensive duties well at the weekend and he will go a long way in pinning Laird back.

The only other option would be to slot Hughes in there but again, I’m not sure he will feature at all.

You won’t believe this, but amazingly all the teams below the top ten will be playing each other over the next 2 nights as well, one in a million chance of that happening !!!

Ethan Laird didn’t play Saturday due to injury and neither did Dembele. They still have Cody Dremah though.

And so gaining 3 points tonight is even more important because at least 5 of those clubs will drop points, and with say 3 draws then 8 will drop points.

Just hoping we get another result tonight, but this is football and this is the Championship and we are Preston North End........

Laird is injured so it’ll be Cody Drameh

Brum fans are 50/50 on whether they’ll have a back 5 with Drameh as a wingback or a back 4 with Oli Burke at RW. Either way, if Millar is fit I think he can handle those two, especially going forward

Brum fans don't seem very confident, plenty missing for them by all accounts, would be typical north end to get turned over tonight, here's to hoping that soft underbelly has gone now and we go and take it to them again!
They had a few missing at Watford but from the highlights never looked like losing until they went down to 10.

We need to start off quick like we did against Plymouth and kill the game off quickly…hope hughes is fit as we need his pace at the back

Didn't realise they had injuries and suspensions to so many players.

This is exactly the kind of game we fluff up, win tonight in front of another bumper crowd and I will be one very happy man.
Are we actually expecting another bumper crowd?

Looks like it will be decent for a Tuesday night. Don't know if the club have been but they should be out into the local schools giving out free tickets whilst we are doing well to try and capture the next generation.

My friend is stuck over the Pennines and I have am also unable to attend so physically 2 down, but as season ticket holders will still be counted plus i follow will get 2 extra viewers.

Would be great to see Millar starting, but after seeing him cramp up on Saturday, I’d be surprised to see him start so soon after.

Obviously needs some time to get up to speed in terms of the demand, he looks like a player we will be utilising a lot. Last thing we need is him getting injured, potentially a good option to bring on and cause chaos though if he’s been given the ok.
