Delay would improve his chances - potential for a bit of a feel-good factor as they get the worst of covid behind them.

Russian and Chinese leaders do this and we have a mixture of anger and apathy.

.... and if this was a normal power-grabbing would-be dictator, you might expect him to have gone big on the need to delay to protect people during campaigning and voting etc.

But Trump crying foul about postal vote fraud, it is all about divisiveness and creating mistrust and anger. Once again - he is one dangerous individual.

he has no power whatsoever to do it. He’s just lining up excuses for if and when he gets booted out.
 
I have a recurring vision/dream that when January rolls around, and a new US president is signed in, they turn to drumpf, and whisper in his ear ‘he’s behind you’. Orangeman turns around and gets served for the campaign finance irregularities case New York has on ice for him. It’s also served to him by a female, preferably African American, court officer.

he then turns to see his rent a wife laughing and doing the maths on how much is left from her pre-nup, which, btw, she renegotiated after he was elected, and had been caught with his pants down with a couple of porn stars.
 
Something worth noting also. Delaying the election doesn’t mean what it sounds like, trump and pence are only elected to serve until January 2021. Even if the vote was delayed past then, they would be out of their role in January. Anything else would be creating a dictatorship. No election would put the US in the Hands of Chuck Grassley and (irony alert) Nancy Pelosi.

it’s all laid out pretty clearly in the US constitution, which we can assume Trump has not read.

So given their infection rate is flying up, we can safely assume they won’t be able to “safely” vote by January, meaning best he could do is delay it by a month?

that would take an act of Congress, which will not happen.
 
Don’t dismiss the possibility that when people get into the privacy of the voting booth.... might still be a second term.
It doesn’t help that Joe Biden comes across like a eet fish.

I've been listening to a lot of commentary about Trump and Bidens campaign strategies and it appears saying/doing nothing is what is helping Biden in the polls and is proving frustrating for Trump

Don’t also dismiss the possibility that all those poor folk that couldn’t take time off last time can now mail a vote in, most of those are low income, Latino, etc. Very unlikely to be trump voters. There is a reason he is railing against mail in votes, And it has nothing at all to do with the non existent fraud he keeps touting.

Isnt it odd, well not at all, really, that over here the Tories seem very concerned about postal votes also.
 
Trump also despises the post office, and has frequently said postage should cost 4* what they charge (which is frankly insane), so anything to make them look bad..
