Today as yet again shown we lack a cutting edge .we need a striker someone who can score I know they cost money but think of the rewards and money that bit of quality can bring .we know that Maguire is not good enough and should not be near the team

We now know from this post that you're a bit of a knee jerk idiot pinpointing one person who actually played well.

Maguire didn't play as a Striker thus rendering your weak point about him Null and Void.

You crack on though cha with the Seani bashing.

A new striker played in that position (Striker, not Wide Left) would be nice though.

Another day we could of won comfortably, we dominated the game, never in danger against tough opposition.
We are 3rd in the league no guarantee a big signing would make any difference.
Well done North End very solid performance.

I'd like both a striker and a left winger brought in, honestly. Not Sean's fault that the competition for places is so poor.

All of our players have limitations. We just have to try to overcome them as best we can. Bad day at the office today up front from everyone who got a sniff of goal.

I don’t particularly like Maguire but at the moment he is definitely worth his place in the team. Thought he looked dangerous today but poor finishing let him down.

Maguire is one of our best players
A good striker would score 20 goals a season. That's less than 1 every 2 games. And likely they have at least one decent chance every game, probably more. So even decent strikers are not converting every chance. I thought Sean had 2 decent chances, not sitters by any means but I would have expected he'd score one of them. Bodin also had a decent chance, again not a sitter. Pearson created a good chance for himself towards the end and forced a good save from the goalie.
This idea that every chance should be converted is ridiculous.

The reality is if we had a clinical striker, we could always have one of Barky harrop maguire as an option off the bench, rather than relying on maguire all the time because Barky has to go up top

You can't run Maguire into the ground out wide left, asking him to work his balls off protecting the full back, maintaining possession, launching attacks, and also expect him to cut in from wide himself, beating his man, getting off a shot, hitting the target, and scoring maybe 1 in 3.

If he has to do all that, why are we singling him out and settling for so much less from the rest of the midfield?

I agree with you , not every chance should be converted, we had 4 or maybe 5 good chances and at this level you would think that converting one or two would be an expectation,we converted none ?

Get Doyle back. He has 2 more today making 19 so far this season. There is your 20 goals a season man.

Yes we should have won for sure.
