This corona virus thing...

I am encouraged that the figures do appear to be going the right way and hopefully the hospitals can cope with covid and seasonal flu and some routine stuff.

I think, in particularly, that the R rate does seem to be dropping rapidly.

Another case of the much hailed “short and sharp” “fire breaker” “circuit breaker” not really making much of a difference, sadly.

About time Labour stopped pedalling this nonsense that all would be fine if we did a two-week circuit breaker in October or whenever it was they suggested it.

Clumsy?

Remember this?

Not really but let’s look at the bigger picture. Maybe even why left wingers will so easily find and share such an image.

Funny how this populist “#defundtheBBC” and similar movements have got very prominent in these days of Johnson, Cummings etc. isn’t it? I simply cannot understand how Socialist/socialist people don’t see that they are (IMO) being played by the ERG / Cummings lobby on this critical topic.

Up until about half a decade ago, the BBC was pretty widely accepted of leaning centre-left but in a short space of time, especially the last 2 or 3, there’ve been growing complaints from the left. #defundthebbc gained traction.

But the BBC is (relatively) independent. It holds power to account. It is essentially of the people and for the people. It’s not owned by Rupert Murdock or the Barclay Brothers etc. It is a tool that should, and usually does, work even handedly.

Boris Johnson hates the BBC. He and Cummings and their like would love to destroy it. I don’t dismiss the possibility that the corruption that this government wreaks has influenced SOME editorial balance - but this is not a major change of output. This is an undermining PR campaign at work. They are good at what they do. But what sensible people should be doing is going out of their way to SAVE the BBC and if something needs mending, then work to mend it.

I am aghast that this malevolent government is again influencing the general public to do its dirty work for it.

Well the tories tier 3 then a full lockdown and back to tier 3 appears to have worked so much better hasnt it?

It is the only policy he has pedalled since becoming leader and he was just being a contrarian. Circuit breakers have only led to bigger lockdowns anyway. We were better off not doing one before this lockdown, means less time locked down.
Vaccines wont be compulsory but.........................

Have just read about a possible vaccination passport/ID. Normally I would be extremely uncomfortable with this, but in a public health emergency there is obviously going to have to be a big effort to create a big uptake. What’s the point in fast-tracking a vaccine if the uptake isn’t high and people fall for all the anti-vaxx disinformation.

It’s likely that a lot of businesses will be in favour of it as well, especially restaurants and pubs as it will help prevent outbreaks on their premises that could lead to closures.

footy grounds?

You need to ask! Because its a fact free joke of a statement.

I will just leave this video of a BBC employee promoting austerity and more destruction of the working class here...

I don't like saying this but Laura makes my skin crawl. And it's not even to do with what she's saying, but just her delivery. Many times I mute the TV when she's talking. Every word is sooooooo dramatic.

And it's true, 1/4 of our entire £2 trillion debt could be wiped off tomorrow, should we wish.

Sturgeon announces a £500 bonus for all NHS staff and then threw out the gauntlet to Johnson to make that tax free as the Scottish Parliament has no say over that.

To be fair the Welsh one under Labour didn't work either

They have only just come of a lockdown (sorry circuit breaker)
And the figures are higher than ever

Now they are trying another one
What did we used to say about the Welsh?

Baa Baa Baa
