Training Ground Update - Delayed by YEARS

In my opinion, there is no chance that Hemmings will ever pay £10m for a new training ground, even with the proceeds from the housing developments. Ingol will never happen.

Sounds like the sporting facilites at Springfields won't be getting much of an upgrade, it's just changing rooms and offices going in -

It is understood that the proposed new building at Springfields to contain dressing rooms and offices, would be where the groundsman's storage facility currently stands, close to the canal.

The sports hall and gym would remain in place.

Blatantly a case of the training ground being used to gain public support for the whole development. That piece of land will be set aside and only ever used for a 'state of the art' training ground once all the houses are built and sold & the club can pay for the build themselves due to having been promoted to the Premier League and the gravy train that comes with it.

Be nice to see what this planned development at Springfields consists of.

Its mainly going to be a massive strongroom for all Trevs dosh !!!

February 2017 on the club website -

The intention is for the first team to be training at the facility in time for the 2018/19 season and therefore being occupied in August 2018. As such, construction is targeted to be commenced on site as soon as possible.

In June 2017, the Lancashire Post reported that the training ground would come first, and then the housing afterwards. As a local paper, you would presume that they were told this by the club.

I provided the quotes from the article and the link to it on a previous thread on this topic, in August last year.

The article now appears to have been removed, and it says "page not found" when the link is clicked. Wonder why they've taken it down ?

Well we did ask for an update lol

some lovely new unaffordable houses though, good eh?

"In all of our pre planning discussions it was made clear that the financing of the training ground could only be based on the delivery of the profit from the whole of the housing development. This remains the case."

Wow. Making it really clear there.

The WHOLE.

i.e. gives 'em wiggle room for the next million years.

lol.

On the bright side the Springfield's refurb set up will surely impress our prospective multi million pound signings , Won't it ?
