😁Is there any significance in the fact that the leader of the reform party (UK) Richard Tice is an anagram of "Third reich" ??
As someone who does not want the UK to break up, I have to admit the SNP having a hard time. A key argument for the economic case for independence has been that as oil declines, Scotland can move to wind power. This is doubtless true, but this suggests that their claim that Scotland has 25% of Europe's wind power potential is very much overstated (should be 7%)... but critically, the SNP has apparently known this is an overstatement for a long time and hushes up the 'error' allowing the 25% stat to be continually peddled.
Approximately 3 to 4 percent of migrants to the UK come via small boats (about thirty-something thousands out of a total of a million immigrants). Of course those on small boats are a big concern, and represent a much higher %age of “illegal” migrants.
But this government (and hence the Express & Mail) are rabid - utterly obsessed with them, to the point where they WANT Britain’s reputation to be trashed in the world. How the flip can they claim to be “Patriotic” and wrap themselves in our flag?
Is this ideological- or is it just a desperate attempt to cling to power?
For those who haven’t yet seen Braverman’s latest rant… this gives a flavour. The last para is astonishing. Reckless. Treachery even.

We are closer to a nazi dictatorship than we are to ever getting PR, it isnt going to happen, somehow we really have enabled the lunatics to run the asylum. To fundamentally change the way this country is run, including such things as opting out of international rule of law or economic union, a truly democratic country should have receive the agreement of majority of the voting people. Nothing that has changed since 2016 has received such a mandate. Everything that has been changed or is now being proposed to be changed by the various lunatics with a political platform is being presented on the basis of an imaginary manifesto commitment voted by circa 33% of the electorate in 2019, a Brexit referendum with circa 40% of the electorate or worse the latest voting polls funded by many of the same donors that fund our media rags. All this facilitates extreme views of the type we are witnessing to flourish in the mainstream. We need PR.
It looks like Spain are going ahead with something of a 'progressive ' coalition, even though the PP were the first past the post.We are closer to a nazi dictatorship than we are to ever getting PR, it isnt going to happen, somehow we really have enabled the lunatics to run the asylum.
Apparently its very unpopular and would only take one piece of legislation that the separatists don't like and the whole thing would fall apart. I imagine they'll have an election before us.It looks like Spain are going ahead with something of a 'progressive ' coalition, even though the PP were the first past the post.
Sanchez briingng back the exiled Catalan leader.
Maybe a lesson for us there and a coalition here might be a better bet than an overall labour majority.
Imagine labour being 2 short of a majority and having to go cap in hand to Corbyn and Abbott? Now that would be something.
I know how unpopular the Catalan nationalists are in the rest of Spain. They're more interested in keeping their tax receipts than actually celebrating their culture and liberal traditions.Apparently its very unpopular and would only take one piece of legislation that the separatists don't like and the whole thing would fall apart.
