UK Politics

And is if to reinforce that point

I don't like Liz Kendall, but the line that I have seen her take today (Evening Standard; the Independant) is that the Government aren't doing enough to help people who are currently not working because of health issues.

She proposes to increase Mental Health support, and targets NHS waiting lists under the Tories as an issue (eg the number of over-50s waiting too long for knee or hip replacement surgery). Her mantra is that a healthier nation will help the economy.

What really pisses me off about interviews with pollies, when they're asked a question that they blatantly don't answer and start going on some pre-scripted bollocks, the interviewer may ask them the same question a few times saying they haven't answered it, but why don't they just say "If you don't answer the question I've asked I'm cutting you off" and bloody do it! They try and make it look like they're being a 'tough' interviewer by asking them again and again, but they still sit back and allow the fuckers to get through the spiel that they really want the airtime to do. Get some bloody backbone!!

Argentina has had a centre right govt which has literally plunged an already poverty stricken nation into inflation that is running at 150%, its hardly surprising that the people are desperate.

Yet if you listened to the Argentinians I've encountered online, it's all Communism's fault.

So they've decided the best way to recover from decades of stagnant neoliberalism is to elect the guy who gets his economic theory from communicating telepathically with his dog, wants to adopt the dollar and lose any control over monetary policy, and legalise the sale of organs.

I'm sure it'll go swimmingly.

Yup - it is very easy to criticise people for voting for right wing populists. But, when the system has failed you badly and the mainstream parties left you in even worse poverty, you end up voting for anyone who is offering some sort of answer out of sheer desperation.

If you don't want people to vote for extremes, offer them something other than more of the same.

Proper fucking crazy that Sunak thinks now is the time to be cutting taxes. Every policy the Tories put through between now & the GE will be solely about shoring their southern support up so they only lose heavily rather than getting absolutely obliterated. I just hope those fuckwits in Leigh and other mentally deficient backwaters enjoyed their Brexit and levelling up japes, but go back to real voting now.

He said he would be prioritising tax cuts, we all know what that means, for those who least need them.
