Wee knocks and suspensions 22/23

See you in 8 weeks
Might be wise to advise our players that trying to prevent the opposition goalkeeper from kicking the ball isn't worth getting injured for.

We knew Woodburn had a injury prone past. So, not a huge surprise once he starts a league game something like this happens.

Just hope it's not a two month spell. But he struggled to walk off last night.

RL on team news: “Bambo and Álvaro are back on the grass and will join in parts of training today, Hughesy won’t be on the grass today and Seani has been back in full training for a week or so now.” #pnefc
He started the game today at Euxton and looked 'off the pace a bit' [understandably]. However was fed a suicide back pass mid way through first half that was a real bone cruncher of a 50/50. Although he came out for the second half he was substituted within 5 minutes....wonder if the two things are connected.

Woodburn out for a wee while, Hughes could be back in the squad.

Lowe is relieved Woodburn is only going to be out for 5 weeks "as we thought it might be a long one". 💪 #robustness

"Back on the grass" is the new "wee knock" - could mean an imminent return, could mean weeks away.

Anyway, Woodburn is back on the grass, while Diaby has done some perfectly-normal-because-he's-fit-and-firing "extra work".

"Back on the grass" actually means Woodburn is miles away and they are medicating him using marijuana, so I've been told.

Back for Sunderland he said t’other week. So still plenty of time for a ”small set back” then

We've certainly appear to have had far less injuries this season than for a few seasons....and only contact injuries when we have them.....

All the preseason S & C work seems to be paying off..
Crucial it stays this way with the lack of quality cover in certain position’s.

I know John Lucas is very good at what he does but I doubt he can improve the quality of 'our cover'.....
He also doesn't have full control of the medical side so Jacko has his part to play too....especially in recovery post injuries..
